The Brahma come in a variety of colours, but by far the two most common are the Light and the Dark. other colours available here in Australia are Buff Columbian, Partridge, White and Black. Added to these, there are also a couple colours that are being worked on to prove the breeding.

LIGHT:

Is a Columbian pattern, with the White being a Luminous White. Bright and clean.

Male hackle is black with a green sheen with a narrow white lacing on the feather. Cape is black and white. The saddle is white

Tail Black with a greenish sheen to it.

Wings are white. primaries are black with the lower edge white.

Body, white but under wings may be grey.

Fluff, white; Underfluff, grey.

 

Dark:

Male: Head Silvery White.

Neck Hackle; Black with a green sheen and laced with white.

Front of neck is Black.

Back including saddle

 

Buff Columbian: Identical to the Light except that the white is replaced by Buff.

 

Partridge:

 

White: White all over with a blue/slate underfluff.
