Having gone back into the Navy, I became a Seabee.
The Seabee adventure began for me with EA school at Naval
Construction Training Center, Gulfport, Mississippi.
From there it was on to "Fighting Forty" in
"lovely" Port Hueneme, California.
While in California, I became acquainted with the Navy relief
Society and assisted them with their food locker program. This was before Navy
relief Society became Navy-Marine Corps relief Society. I guess all good things
have to come to an end, don't they?
I also had the opportunity to be a communicator for the 31st
Naval Construction Regiment during my last field exercise. Being a communicator
was far superior to being in the field with the battalion.
