Miracles Of Life
In The winter of 1967 when I was 12 yrs old I went into the Hospital in Picayune Miss. with Stomach problems, not sure
of what the problem was they began doing test. Nothing was showing up and I was getting worse, after two days I was kept in
a semiconscious state and after Three days I was unconscious. Then on day four they found the problem, I had an intestinal
obstruction and Gangrene had set in. Well the Doctors told my mother and father that there was nothing they could do because
they were not equipped for this kind of surgery and that I would most likely die but God had other plans for me.
They said that the only chance I had was in New Orleans at Turow Infirmary. The problem was that I was getting worse
by the minute and it is a long way from Picayune to New Orleans. They said I would not live to make the trip even in and ambulance.
Well I do not remember much about that because I woke briefly as they were loading me in the Ambulance because it was
cold. I woke briefly as the ambulance was crossing the bridge to New Orleans and I remember them placing me on the elevator
going to surgery but that was all for about the next three days. When I woke up after the surgery they told me that they were
only able to repair part of the damage and would be going back to surgery the following day. The next time I woke I had a
one inch drain tube sticking out of my abdomen. They said that I would have to be watched for several days to make sure that
everything was alright with the tube. After two weeks I went back to surgery and the drain tube was removed. Well 73 bottles
of glucose and 35 days later I was told that every thing was healed and I could eat food again. I remember thinking of all
the foods I liked and how much I was going to eat. I never knew how many commercials there were about food until that time
in my life but, they are on TV every few minutes, Radio every half hour, in magazines on every other page. The Bible says
Jesus went into the desert and fasted 40 days. I can tell you he was tempted by Satan.
Well my first meal was two spoons of beef broth and for the next two weeks I was fed every two hours a couple of spoons
full of broth. You see my stomach had shrunk to the size of a small walnut and it would take several more weeks before I would
get where I could eat regular meals again. I weighed about 95lbs when I went into the hospital and 40lbs when I came out.
For two years I ate 5 times a day. And then it happened again 2 years later but this time I was only in the Hospital a week.
As I look back now I see the miracle God preformed in my life, But I also know that God answered a lot of prayers on my behalf,
which is also a miracle.
We do not have to look far in order to witness a miracle of God, we see one every time a child is born, or when we
look at the face of a child playing. When we listen to the birds singing or watch wildlife at a park we see a miracle of God.
When we spend time with the elderly and hear their stories and watch their faces light up in remembrance, we see a miracle.
God has a purpose for all of us but sometimes we try to escape what God has planned for us and we suffer the loss of Gods
Blessings on our lives. I ran from God for years and now I understand my purpose and I will walk in the direction God has
chosen for me. I surrendered to the ministry at the age of 49 in the year 2003, so I am a miracle of God because I am not
worth what God went through to save my life.
Do you want to see a real miracle of God? Just look in a mirror and see one of Gods greatest miracles, and if you are
a born again, blood saved Christian then you know the miracle of what God has done in your Life.
