Fishing for Men
We are told in the Bible that Jesus called Peter and Andrew to
become Fishers of men; this means that they were to follow him and learn the ways of righteousness so that they could lead
men to Christ and Salvation. We are charged with that same message from Christ. We should be fishers of men and lead people
to Christ. Each one that comes to know Jesus is one that did not get away, it counts as a catch. As Christians we should try
and fill our basket with as many catches as possible. The only lure you are given to fish with is the Truth of Jesus. It is
the best lure ever made because it came from God. Our day of fishing is about over the sun is setting on the lake and
darkness is closing in. I wonder how God will look at our day of fishing. Did we fish in the right places or were we just
skipping from place to place looking for a better spot? Did we use what God gave us or did we use what we felt was better?
I hope that I use what God gives me and that maybe I will get a catch that may bring Glory to God. Our time here is limited
and we need to make good use of it, the end of day is coming and so is the Lord. We fish for men by witnessing and by
testimonies of our life. We are given the right to fish anywhere we want. We don't even need a license because it was given
to us when we were saved. I love to fish and fishing for men to bring the truth of salvation into light is an honor. The Bible
says that when someone is saved that the angels sing and rejoice and I to rejoice. I love the opportunity to witness about
what Jesus has done for me. I serve my Lord and Savior in whatever way possible so that my fishing trip may be successful.
We may not have mush time left so we need to make the most of it. We need to bring as many people into the knowledge of
Christ as is possible. You and I need to make sure that we do everything we can to bring glory to God. If each one of us were
to bring one person to Christ and each one we bring to Christ were to bring one person into Christ before long the whole world
would be saved. Is that not a glorious thought.
Matthew 4:19 come follow me Jesus said and I will make you fishers
of men.
My question for you is "are you fishing, are you a fisher of men, are you following Jesus?"
