My Rebellion
You know I have lived most of my life rebelling against God. But God never gave up on me, he should have. After I gave
my life to Christ I did not have the faith needed to face the trials that were coming at me. So I turned away from God, I
allowed Satan to trick me into thinking I was better off out of Church and out of Gods Reach.
You know what I was wrong; we are never out of Gods reach. God loves us so much that he is willing to forgive us
every time we stray. I should know since I was saved in 1974 but have moved in and out of Gods will several times but every
time God would allow me to only go so far then he would touch me and bring me back. One thing that Satan uses to get me away
from God was the fact that God was calling me to more service and I would listen when Satan said “you can not do
this, you are uneducated, unequipped, and God is asking too much of you”. I know a lot of Christians that have told
me that they to were drawn away from God in similar ways.
You see Satan is a great deceiver, the Bible calls him this and for good reason. Satan is a fallen angel, and he uses
God against us. We may not see him but Satan is close by and he uses different tactics on each of us because we are all different;
what works on me may not work on you. You notice that I said close by, that is because Satan is not omni present, he can only
be in one place at a time unlike God who is everywhere at once.
That gap is enough for us to begin thinking about God and what he did for us. This get us working toward rebuilding
what we allowed Satan to destroy, our relationship with God. What is sad is that some people will never come back. Some say
“I can not come back because I failed God” or some will say I am not coming back because what would people
think” and some say “I tried the God thing and it is not for me” Still others will not come
back because they never really knew Christ. But no matter what the reason God is always willing to take us back. All we have
to do is ask, the problem I had was pride I did not want to admit that I needed anything.
God is a God of mercy and love always forgiving. We need to help other realize that no matter what they have done God
will forgive them. Look at Paul, he wrote 2/3s of the New Testament and only because God forgave him. Paul was one who was
killing Christians; He was hunting them down and would bring them before the priests to be beaten and killed. Christ saw past
his faults and gave him Salvation, then he called him to preach to others the good new of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Now if God could forgive Paul then surly he can forgive us.
I know I am forgiven and I know that I serve God. I ran out of fear, but God calmed the fear and turned it into a ministry.
I was not equipped but God equipped me to do what I was called for. God can do the same for you.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
