History: The original DURAC, designated R-342, was one of the few robots made especially for 1824 Techno. Lord Hugh Macphereson, seeing the need to protect earth from the imminent skig invasion, made a request to the private robot and military companies all over the world in 1890. He viewed all of the prototypes created by the great robot companies of the day, but an old blacksmith from Serbia, Sergei Durac, made the one that caught his eye. Not only was the robot well made, but also its weaponry could cut a swathe through both humans and skigs alike. The Fist of Fury was a revolutionary leap in robot weaponry technology.

Year Made: 1891

Weight: 1.56 tons

Height: 7 ft 2 in

Power Plant: 1 6-cylinder V, water-cooled, petrol-oil mix (95 hp)
Armaments: 1 hydraulically supplemented Fist of Fury (700 lbs/in), buzz saw "SKIGRIPPA" arm.

Special Notes: The DURAC's reign as primary defender against skigs was short lived. Lord Hugh Macphereson could only make a dozen before the British and French governments bought the prototype from Sergei Durac. The British made 76 DURACs, while the French made 25 DURACs. When World War I started, all of the DURACs were sent against the German trenches in hopes of getting in close combat-where the DURACs could rip the defenses apart. Unfortunately, they were all cut down by concentrated rifle and machine gun fire. It was reported that one artillery shell exploded and destroyed 8 DURACs. Perhaps DURACs weren't made to kill humans.

Present day: One DURAC had the opportunity to dance at a show at Burlington's Veterans' Center. As soon as it took the floor, it struck several dancers with its deadly appendages and was brought down under a hail of thundering body blows and jump kicks. A human battering ram was also used to knock down the formidable DURAC.
