You are listening to the theme from the movie "1492"Powder Horns

We take great pride in presenting quality hand made powder horns by October Country. They are built to resist the most demanding use. They are air and water tight. Keeping your powder dry is easy with these horns. October Country use select grade cow horns, chosen for their natural flowing curves and proportioned dimensions. There are no hidden flaws or cracks in the horn. Besides being a functional and useful way to carry black powder, these are fantastic decorator items. Nothing quite says frontier Americana like a good powder horn. For decorating a den, study, office, or living room in a frontier or colonial motif, these are perfect selections. Ocotber Country powder horns are made right in their shop by skilled local craftsmen!

Cureton Powder Horns
For over thirty years Cureton Horns have been the prefered traditional style horn.  Earl Cureton of Bull's Gap, Tennessee started the business and now we are please to be able to offer these horns to you.  Each horn is individually selected for shape and size.  The maple base plug is lathe turned with an acorn finial and surrounded with solid brass cutler's nails.  The stopper is turned with a taper to insure a proper fit.  The horns are stained to give that old dark authentic look of original powder horns.  The standard grade powder horn has a plain rounded tip with just a strap groove cut in it.  All horns come complete with a 58" narrow leather lace carrying strap.  The horns are measured along the outside curve from the tip back to (but not including) the base plug.
