The
computer has become a vital part of everyone’s life in the 20th
century. Important information is stored in the computer. We live each
day in fear of the computer breaking down. If that happens, it will be
the end of the world for most of us. All information will be lost. We
will have to start all over again from scratch to build up our database.
In the last decade, the Net and the Web have
greatly integrated into our lives. We search the Web for all the
information we need. We get all the information needed without
physically leaving the house to visit libraries or bookshops. The
information is at fingertips away. Electronic-commerce (e-commerce) has gained vast
popularity in the business sphere in the past two years. Dot.com
companies have started to sprout out everywhere. Big organizations such
as Citibank, Microsoft, IBM, Apple etc., already have their e-commerce
sites up in the Web. People could buy commodities from such websites
without setting foot into the stores. To put it in simple words, the Net
and the Web environment have provided a lot of conveniences for people
in their daily lives. We are getting more and more reliant and dependent
on the convergence of the physical world
and the virtual world.
