Our radios arrive from all over the world . The early Grundig
Satellits must be double boxed, with lots of newspapers, and bubble wrap to prevent the bandspread plates from popping
out and jaming. If you pack too tight, damage may occur from opening the radio. Knives will cut & scratch
!Bubble rap is good, but do not over tape it! One small strip of tape will hold the bubble wrap in place, the radio can
"float" and will be easy to unpack. One radio arrived so tightly packed, it caused the
tuning knob to push through the main circuit board! Larger radios may have to be boxed, mounted on a skid and shipped directly
via land or air. Do not use styrofoam, it flakes and ends up inside the dial scale! Always wrap the radio in a
plastic bag first, it prevents anything from getting inside. One last thing, try to have foam strips on the front
of the radio, a dial scale cracked as an on-off knob pushed in during shipment.
Beautiful Satellit 6001 ruined. |
