Hmmm,
where to start. I am from the beautiful little town of Moncks Corner, which is in the middle of the
quiet Berkeley County, which is one of the biggest counties in the little state of South Carolina, which
is in the southern part of the well known country of the United States, which is sort of in the northern
part of this big world, which is located somewhere in the massive universe, which is nestled in the vastness of eternity.
(Now put that address on an envelope and see where it goes, lol)
Ok,
ok, anyway, it is very pretty where I am from. Berkeley county is one of the quieter counties in this
lesser known state, so things are pretty slow around here. There are lots of woods and swamps, which I love.
I was born and raised here, and have lived here every one of my sixteen years. Oops, did I just tell you
my age? whoops, lol, well, pretend I did not say that, hehe.
I sort of
live on a farm. The picture on my home page is of me and my sweet little hens, each of whom has a very unique
personality. Their breed is the Aracauna. And, brace yourself, they lay blue
eggs!! No joke! They are such cute little things; all but one of them have beards, and they all
have the most beautiful feathers. They are like pets, they will sit on my lap and preen my hair,
and coo...it is so cute!
Ok,
enough about them. I have other pets too. I keep exotic cockroaches, I currently have over 200 individuals
of 11 different species from around the world. Check out my link page before you go "eww, yuck",
lol. I have an excellent link on exotic roaches with great pictures, so you can see for yourself that these aren't
your ordinary roaches! Even the most "ordinary" roaches are really quite extraordinary! Did you know that the
American Cockroach is the fastest land insect? (I bet you do, if you ever tried swatting one in the kitchen,
lol) Another interesting thing about them...if you cut a roaches head off, it will still live for weeks
or more! It will only die from a need of water, because it's brains are in it's stomach! (wow
that is weird, lol) They can go for months without food, and weeks without water!! Well,
anyway, just check out the roach link at the bottom of my "favourites" page, and you can see for yourself what
I mean!
I also have
2 little mixed breed dogs; one is sort of a terrier mix, her name is Minny, and the other is a dachshund\chihuahua\poodle
mix, her name is Crystal.
Finally,
my other pets are my fish. I have been keeping tropical aquariums since I was eleven. My favourite freshwater
fish is the Clown Loach. I used to have three beautiful specimens of them, but I got tired of aquariums about
2 years ago and decided to give my finest fishes to my Aunt, who is very very very big on aquariums, lol.
She still has my loaches, too! It was her that got me interested in aquariums in the first place. She has five
70-gallon tanks with the most beautiful live plants and fish. Anyway, I did get tired of aquariums,
but not totally. Now, I have a combination aquarium and terrarium, with a land section and a water
section...it is like the edge of a pond or something...it is very lovely. There is a little waterfall in it,
too. I have just some plain wild-type guppies (I never cared much for the fancies!) and also some nice
bog plants.
I am very
interested in a lot of things. I really like linguistics, I am currently studying Spanish, Russian,
Polish, Dutch, and German. I love birds and insects, and non-flowering plants, like
mushrooms, mosses, and ferns. I also like viruses. (not to sound misanthropic here, they just
interest me, lol.) I play the piano, I have been playing since I was 7. I like politics and
am interested in going into government when I get older. My favourite book is The Metamorphosis, by Franz
Kafka, who is one of my favourite authors. This magnificent book, along with Dostoyevsky's Notes
from Underground, shaped my ideas about the lowly cockroach, and really gave me a glimpse into human humility.
I have many loves in this world, many hopes and dreams. I have many skills, but I am not excellent at one
particular thing- I have some skill in piano, some skill in drawing, some in speech and english, but
no one great gift. I am a lonely wanderer; I'm silent, yet I'm screaming; I'm hopeless, yet
I'm dreaming. I am also a bit of a poet and songwriter, I also like to write short stories occasionally.
Besides
the US and my favourite foreign country, Great Britian, my favourite part of the world is Eastern Europe.
All of these beautiful countries; Poland, Hungary, Romania, Austria, Latvia, Lithuania,
Estonia, Slovenia, Russia...such unique countries all into themselves, each so beautiful, each so
rich in history and culture. Some day, I want very much to visit these places, I want to go all over the
world. I also am very interested in the Nordic states; Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland...such
fascinating history and culture.
I am very
alone in the world. I dream of love, liebestraum as one would say in German. As one would say in latin- Dum
spiro spero spes, which means "while I breathe, I hope". That latin phrase also happens to be on the Great
Seal of my state.
And it
is true- I hope, I dream. Hoffnung Ewig. Hope eternally.

The glorious game of Backgammon!!
P.S.- I will beat you again one day, hammy!
Mark my words!!!!! lol
This is a picture of the beautiful Clouded
Leopard. Click on the pic to visit a website about them.
I almost like Clouded leopards as much
as I do a certain Tiger... anyway...
Awesome spider, eh? This
lovely (and dangerous) specimen is called a Red Widow, and is related to the infamous Black Widow.
Would you believe people keep these
things as pets? I would have to draw the line at a tarantula, personally lol
Wow, and you thought your day
was bad?? ha ha ha
Count your blessings folks, and
thank God we are not grasshoppers lol (except to the government...)
