Heavy Industry and Shipbuilding
This division manufactures ships, industrial vehicles, construction equipment, rolling stock, defense industry and aerospace products, and a number of other goods as well.

Construction and Hotels
One of the world's major general contractors, Daewoo is involved with architectural work such as urban development and housing projects, civil engineering projects such as building roads and highways, and building industrial plants such as dams and petrochemical complexes.

Daewoo also operates hotels such as the Seoul Hilton and the Kyongju Hilton (A great hotel located near the historic sites and downtown of Kyongju!). Daewoo also operates or has an investment in many other hotels, including Sheratons and Hiltons, around the world.

Motor Vehicles
Daewoo aims to become one of the world's top 10 manufacturers in the coming century with domestic and overseas combined production to exceed 3 million units annually. By the year 2000, Daewoo plans to have a total production capacity of 2.5 million units in Korea and abroad.

Daewoo currently markets vehicles in over 140 countries around the world and has 12 vehicle plants in 11 countries, including plants in Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Romania, and the Czech Republic.

Electronics and Telecommunications
Established in 1971, Daewoo Electronics makes consumer electronics products, such as televisions, VCRs, cellular phones, personal computers, and various home appliances such as microwave ovens (#1 in Europe) and washing machines (#1 seller worldwide)

Finance and Services
Daewoo Securities is the 19th largest securities company in the world in terms of shareholders' equity and has 100 branches around the world in addition to operating three banks.

Daewoo Securities plans to become one of the top five investment banks in the world by the year 2005. It has subsidiaries in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and representative offices in Tokyo, Zurich and Shanhai.
