Hayle Mail June 19th 1914.

This last week was a very busy one, there being as it seemed a general idea among considerable Cornish people to get home in time for Whitsuntide.

We had three weddings again this week. It seems to be the Spring that brings three, this having happened for the last three weeks.

Mr Wm. Layne came all the way from Detroit, Michigan to meet Miss Ethel L. Rowe of helston, and they were married at the city hall, where after a honeymoon in New York, they departed for Detroit where they will reside in future.

Mr Isaac Nicholls, formerly of Penzance now of Lead City, South Dakota, and Mr Ed. Gregory of lead city now but formerly of St Ives, arrived in New York in time to meet the Oceanic on whose arrival they met Miss Dale of Boskenwyn, Penzance and Miss Jennie Hudson of St Ives.

After seeing with about forty others, that were stopping in the Hotel, Miss Dale change her name to Nicholls and Miss Hudson to Gregory at St Peters Episcopalian Church a block away from the hotel, we were all treated to refreshments by the two lucky gentlemen.

Mr & Mrs Nicholls and Mr & Mrs Gregory stayed a week in New York and then left for Lead City, where they expect to arrive in the course of a month, stopping at Philadelphia, Chicago for two or three days to break the journey.

Everybody wished them the best of luck as they departed and Mrs Blake and yours truly wished that all their troubles be little ones.
