Beautifully engraved certificate from the Chino Copper Company issued in 1921-1923. Work begain in 1910 when the great open pit of today began to take form. A mill was erected at nearby Hurley in 1911, a smelter in 1939, a fire refinery in 1942. After years of company mergers and consolidations, Chino became part of the Kennecott Corporation which is now a subsidiary of Rio Tinto.
