St. John's is the oldest city in North America and has a population of 200, 000+. This is my favourite city as it's not too big, not too small, and the city has that famous "Newfie" hospitality.
Now, for all you people that never met a Newfoundlander, you are probably asking to yourself, "What in God's name is 'Waddayat?!?'?". Well it's really 'What are you at?' This is a term Newfies use to say two things all at once:
Hi!
What or How are you doing?
To pronounce Waddayat, you say Wad-da-ya-at. Then say it fast as Newfies generally tend to speak fast in most parts of the island.
The band Great Big Sea made this saying famous by the song titled, fittingly enough, 'What Are You At?'
