kevyn aucoin

kevyn aucoin was a professional make-up artist who just recently died from brain cancer. i discovered him a few years ago from my friend's mom. he has three books: Making Faces, Face Forward, and The Art of Makeup. i really like what he did with his clients in Making Faces...even though most of them are famous, you can hardly recognize who they are. this guy turns males into females dude...kevyn rules.

david lachapelle

right here is one of my favorite modern photographers. he is responsible for quite a few photo shoots in rolling stone magazine, so you may have come across his pictures without even knowing it...i like him because i think he really knows how to use color film to its full extent. he has worked with names such as madonna, marilyn manson, the smashing pumpkins, drew barrymore, pamela anderson, britney spears, blah blah blah. he has two books out full of his work: Hotel LaChapelle and LaChapelle Land...they're amazing.

***woah ok update on mr. lachapelle...i haven't been keeping up with him lately but wow...he directed christina aguilera's new music video Dirrty and is in the process of doing someone elses too but i can't remember who it is. his popularity is growing, yay!

bob fosse

michael jackson can thank bob fosse for having some of the best dance ideas ever...
"As an artist, Fosse was known for his thoroughly modern style, a signature one could never mistake for anyone else's. Snapping fingers are omnipresent, so are rakishly tilted bowler hats. Both hip and shoulder rolls appear frequently, as do backward exits. Swiveling hips and strutting predominate, as do white-gloved, single-handed gestures. Fosse himself often called the en masse amalgamation of these moves the "amoeba", and that word as much as any describes his particular style, one at once fluid and angular." - fosse.com

theo kogan

she is by far one of the most fascinating "famous" girls out there. She put out 5 albums with the lunachicks as their lead singer, she's done lots of modeling, and has starred in a number of movies. She also wrote most of the lyrics for her band, which were usually humorously grotesque. while performing with the lunachicks, she liked wearing gobs of smeared make-up, big clown-like dresses, huge hair pieces, and had a loud intimidating voice. how could i not love her? do you think she rocks the party too? join my theo fanlisting!
