RX7 with 700 hp 13BIntroduction:In June 2002 I met (though a good friend) a guy who was building up a tough,
street legal RX7. For comparison, a similarly specified 1986-1998 RX7 TurboII for a Corolla drag car produced just over 500 rear wheel horsepower at around 20PSI boost on the dyno ('Calculated' to be Flywheel horsepower of 650). The 13B-REW has thicker metal in the intake port area than the earlier TurboII allowing the ports to be around 30% bigger, hence it is estimated that once this engine is complete and tuned it will produce somewhere in the region of 700 flywheel horsepower. Let's see how this compares to some of the most desirable road legal vehicles
available: Stay tuned - I will add more photos when the car is complete and a complete write up from the owner and/or the technician doing the build-up. Photos:
