Pamela Matt, Associate Professor, teaches courses in Ideokinesis and Dance Kinesiology. She studied modern dance technique with Merce Cunningham, Carolyn Brown and Beverly Blossom. In the 1960's and 70's she was involved with the early development of Release Technique through her studies with Joan Skinner and performance collaborations with John Rolland and Nancy Udow. Ms. Matt earned a MA degree in Dance at the University of Illinois. Concurrent with her program there, she began intensive private study with Barbara Clark, founding teacher in the field of Ideokinesiology. Published in 1993 and distributed by Contact Quarterly, her book, A Kinesthetic Legacy: The Life and Works of Barbara Clark presents a biographical portrait of Miss Clark and an exposition of her body philosophy. She has worked as a Movement Specialist with professional dancers in New York, Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. She has conducted workshops in dance science for professional schools in the US and Europe , lectured for regional and national dance conferences and festivals.
