Introducing Dakota, a fine original rock band.

Formed in the late 70's, their careers have spawned a vast array of hard driving, hard loving, original songs.

Dakota's stage performances have included opening for such well-known talent as John Anderson, David Allan Coe, The Bama Band,
Molly Hatchet, The Outlaws, as well as countless live performances throughout the south.

Lead guitarist, Dennis W. Moro, began playing acoustic solo in Central Florida in the mid-70's. That is where he met Charlie Vargo.
Along with Korkie Hurst, they formed a band
called Surge, which eventually became Dakota. Dennis' driving guitar playing proved him to be a vital force in this band.

Charlie Vargo had played and toured throughout the southeast. Charlie played in a band called Chestaine. He brought with him his harmonizing guitar riffs and his experience to boost the career of Dakota.

Dennis Hutto was with Dakota since its inception and he has been the backbone of the music and the band itself.

Al Manfredi has also been there since the band became Dakota. His playing has kept the music driving.

Korkie Hurst, with his vocal range,  the looks of Ronnie Van Zant and added guitar, took Dakota to the
heighth of their career.

Larry Smith, hailing from Texas, stepped in
during Korkie's absence and put his vocals to
the Dakota music with a strength that pulled
everything together like a tight-knit glove.
