The sorority of Unique Kappa Alpha was established in 2000 at Huffman High School and adopted the name Alpha Kappa Upsilon in 2001 when the colors were Purple and Gray. The founder was Victoria Royal. The sorority was reestablished in 2001 at Carver High School the rebirth sisters were Jacqueline Carson, Victoria McCary, Jamala Harry, Leslie Hill, Chardea' Arrington, and Quinesha Smith. The ladies met at Jacqueline's house along with Katrina Hawkins and reformed Alpha Kappa Upsilon into Delta Xi Epsilon the colors were changed to Red and Black.
