  • ECONOMIC POLICY FELLOWSHIP for Friends of Earth
    Friends of the Earth seeks a six-month fellow to work for Economics for the Earth team building public support for the economic issues of tax policy, budget, transportation and government subsidies. This fellowship is a full-time position, with an opportunity for renewal.

    Qualifications
    Candidates should have a college degree with knowledge of U.S. political, economic and environmental issues. Ideal candidates will be well organized, have good writing and verbal skills, a personal commitment to social change, excellent interpersonal skills and grassroots organizing experience.

  • NEXT GENERATION FELLOWSHIP for Council on Foreign Relations
    Next Generation Fellows (NGFs) are full members of the Council on Foreign Relations staff, working in residence at the Council's New York or Washington, DC, offices. NGFs are an integral component of the Studies Department staff and have substantial contact with other Fellows, Council members, and experts in their field.

    Eligibility
    Next Generation Fellowships are open to individuals between the ages of 27 and 40 who have earned a doctorate or some other advanced degree and/or the equivalent experience in government or elsewhere. Although candidates are welcomed from any field within international relations, the Council gives preference to applicants whose work seeks to join regional or functional expertise with economics.

  • FELLOWSHIP ON CONFLICT, PEACE AND SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION of the Social Science Research Council
    The Global Security and Cooperation Program of the Social Science Research Council is pleased to announce two new funding opportunities. The Fellowship on Conflict, Peace, & Social Transformations provides 1-2 years of support for training and research at the doctoral and professional levels. The deadline for this fellowship competition is January 12, 2001. Grants for Research Collaboration in Conflict Zones are for a period up to 6 months and focus on countries experiencing longstanding or widespread conflict.
    The deadline for submission for this grant is February 1, 2001.

  • HDRO INTERNSHIPS for United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
    Internships are full-time, i.e. based on a 5-day, 40 hours work week, but it may vary depending on the individual situation. Ideally, the length of an internship is three months. Internships are unpaid and candidates who are accepted must prove that they carry health insurance. HDRO cannot provide housing but we can help with some information on accomodations in NYC. Interns are responsible for obtaining a valid visa, if necessary.

  • KNOWLEDGE INTERN PROGAM for World Bank
    The Knowledge Intern Program of the World Bank Group is offered to undergraduate and graduate students at selected universities as an opportunity to acquire practical, hands-on knowledge management skills. Students will work with the leaders of professional communities of practice called Thematic Groups (TGs) in a mutual learning and sharing environment.

  • THE FULBRIGHT PROGRAM
    Fulbright grants are made to U.S. citizens and nationals of other countries for a variety of educational activities, primarily university lecturing, advanced research, graduate study and teaching in elementary and secondary schools. Since the program’s inception, more than 85,000 U.S. Fulbrighters have traveled abroad to lecture or conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields ranging from journalism and urban planning to music, philosophy and zoology. More than 144,000 foreign citizens have come to the United States under Fulbright auspices.

  • INTERNATIONAL FELLOWS PROGRAM 2001 for Center For The Study Of Philanthropy
    The Center for the Study of Philanthropy's International Fellows Program is designed to bring younger scholars to New York for three months starting each March to study philanthropy and nonprofit organizations. The Fellows are based in the Center's offices at the Graduate School of the City University of New York, where they will have an opportunity to design and pursue a research project. The topic for the year 2001 will be Community Foundations.
