The Best Mistake she ever made....

uyut.jpg

For those who've watched Felicity they could tell you hands down that it is a life changing show. To many who watched it, it  became  not simply a television show, but a looking glass into our own lives. When the characters cried so did you. The actors and story lines all came together to create an experience not felt since "My So-Called Life". However, much more mature in material Felicity took things a step above the rest.  The realism that it exuded left fans wanting more and more. But, with so many things it came to an all to sudden end. Now all that remains are the videos , pictures and the feeling that so many came away with after experiencing this instant classic of a television series.

My Thoughts

I know you see all over the internet how Felicity was a life changing show; the simple truth is that it was. It made me realize that every breakup isn't the end of the world, and that you have to go with your feelings. Do what feels right. In the three years that I have been watching "Felicity" i have been captivated. I found myself maturing by watching Felicity do the same. Everyone has that one crush they never seem to get over, and that dream of having the perfect existence. The great thing about Felicity is that it is in many ways a fairy tale come to life.

Girl likes boy. Girl follows boy to New York and experiences trials, tribulations, heartbreak, friendships, love, and in the end four years later gets the boy.Hooray!

But lets be realistic if this WERE real life Felicity wouldn't have traveled 3,000 miles just becuase some rouge guy wrote her a compliment in a year book; and even if she had the chances of him wanting to be with her would be slim. I mean if someone, basically, stalked you, there would be no doubt that you'd want to be as far away as possible from that person. But in fact that is why many love "Felicity" so much because it has become a thrill ride with suspensful twists and turns that most of us could never endure. But Felicity does and she , in doing that, empowers the veiwers who watch the show. It makes you feel as if anything is possible , when in fact I suppose it is.

My thoughts continued...

However, it is filled with many real life situaitions and is probably why the story didn't earn a " once upon a time" at the beginning , or a happily ever after at the end. Ben and felicity are left in their land of new york fiction to fend for themselves like any other couple, but you hope; like everyone always does that there is a happily ever after on the horizon.

Although it’s been off the air waves for some time now, "Felicity," still hasn’t lost that special quality that made it so addictive to watch. Women’s Entertainment has seen fit to rerun all of the episodes beginning with Freshman Year and all the way to Senior Year. Through efforts like these, "Felicity" will live on long after the actors and the original fans. New fans will be created and more lives will be touched. The theme that " Felicity" possessed was one of an everyday nature. Heart ache; lost friends; new loves and new friends make the show real enough to be your own life.

Through the ever inspiring words of Sally, she teaches Felicity and the viewers much needed life lessons. Although as the seasons progress, Sally is somewhat forgotten. But when she did show up at the end of an episode she would always take your breathe away. She could almost be compared to the great and powerful Oz. Simply put, she always knew the right thing to say for any situation; and could always put Felicity’s little heart at ease.

All of " Felicity" would never have been possible without the perfect actors; which luckily "Felicity" possessed. While doing some reading and listening to audio commentaries, I learned that the actors were told to act as normal as possible. Some of them would later state that they became so comfortable in their roles and the set that it was as if they weren’t even acting any more. The show became such a big part of all their lives that they were all, undoubtedly, hurt when it all came to an end.

Speaking of the later episodes, these were some of the more outlandish in all the shows’ history. When Felicity is, in fact, sent back into time by meghan. Once there she tells everyone that she is from the future and is then sent to a MENTAL Institution. None of this followed the usual ryhthemof the show at all. There was still of coarse the crucial question: Ben or Noel?; and all the back and forth that Felicity fans have grown accustomed to. The " Back In Time" episodes which they have come to be known as did bring back the flame that the first Season ignited. However, when Noel is killed in a fire Felicity is forced to try and find a way back to the future and her cheating boyfriend.

Even though these episodes seem to show that she was supposed to end up with Ben the whole time, many fans would argue other wise. There are diehard Ben fans, and there are diehard Noel fanatics. Both, in my opinion, are great guys but you have to watch the show to see who she ends up with for sure. Even though this was the biggest plot in felicity it was so much more than that. It had feeling and emotion, and it will never be replaced.
