PREVIOUS UPDATES: January - April 2002

April 30th
-Four reviews were posted today, two from Jeremy for Ali and Not Another Teen Movie, both of which came out today on dvd and vhs, one from Vm1 for Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, and one from me, for Joy Ride.

April 24th
-Slowly trying to catch up on this site, I did two reviews today, one for 10 Things I Hate About You, as well as my own LONG overdue review for Resident Evil. You can expect Joy Ride to be the next to be reviewed, probably followed by Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. Look for the April newsletter coming sometime between the 30th of April and the 2nd of May.

April 22nd
-Jer has put up a review for The Scorpion King which you can find in the reviews section. As well, I have finally updated the Entertainment News section, and this time I really promise more updates, more often in the future. I have also posted my own review for Fight Club, and put up one of Jer's reviews he had done previously, for X-Men. I am hoping to do more reviews this week, and the April newsletter should be pretty bulky, considering it will include stuff from February and March as well. All 3 of the reviewers on this site have plans to see Spider-Man at this point in time, so expect reviews for that from all of us when it comes out May 3rd.

April 18th
-When I wrote the last post, I didn't expect to get swarmed with no less than five tests, and a ton of assignments...as a result, it has taken me till now to finally be able to start updating again. There are about 35 movies that are on the "urgent" review list for me right now, including Resident Evil (which, yes I got to see in theatres cuz my friend and I snuck in ;)), Joy Ride, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Very Bad Things, Scary Movie 2, Final Destination, and Out of Sight. The trivia was updated belatedly again, and the Feb/Mar newsletter has been cancelled, with the info from that letter to go into the April one, so expect a big one at the end of April.

April 8th
-It's been awhile since I officially updated, but the reason was because I have been doing a major revamp, taking out the stories section, improving the meta tags on each individual page, redesigning the movie reviews page, and finally adding a search engine to make it easier to look for things on the site. The newsletter was not sent out, but should be sent out late, around April 15-16th. News sections will be updated soon, and will slowly start being updated more often. As well, maybe in a couple months, I may add a message board as well to the site.

March 26th
-A review was done by Vm1 for Blade II which has been posted, and I have purchased and seen Fight Club so expect a review for that coming soon. Trivia was also updated after a long period where it wasn't, so that's fixed. Also the layout has been changed for the main page of the site, and may go back to the old one, depending...for now, this layout is temporary. The Award winners were posted on the 24th as they were announced, but today I added some commentary to there. The Entertainment News section will be updated soon with news, and the newsletter for February/March will be out sometime.

March 18th
-3 reviews were posted today, one by each of the team. From J.R. Kingston came his fantastic review of The Cell, from Vm1 came a funny review of Zoolander, and from me [JCPhoenix] came a review of a most unusual film, AI. Trivia will be updated later, and I am pissed as Resident Evil is rated R in Canada as well so I cannot see it until it comes out on video... As well, trivia will be updated sometime in the week, and Vm1 has promised a review of Blade 2 coming up...I am also going to see Iris on Friday, and to end my top ten of 2001 list, I am going to try and check out Mulholland Dr when it comes out on dvd in April, so my FINAL top ten list should be up by middle of April, as well as in the April newsletter.

March 17th
-J.R. Kingston has written a review for Resident Evil which came out this weekend, and it can be found in the movie reviews section. After a week long break, I am back, and I also have a review for a movie that came out this weekend -Ice Age. You can check out both of our reviews in the movie reviews section. This coming Friday, I am planning on seeing Iris.

March 11th
-Vm1 wrote two reviews today, one for the new movie The Time Machine and the other for the movie Saving Private Ryan. A new reviewer has joined our team: J.R. Kingston, and more of his reviews will be posted later. His first review for Me, Myself and Irene has been posted and can be found in the movie reviews section. Later on, more can be found out about him in the reviewer's subsection in the about me section. I'll be away from Wednesday - Sunday, so the site won't be updated during this period. Also, I have postponed seeing Resident Evil until Easter Monday.

March 8th
-Vm1 wrote yet another review today for The One, and is currently writing a review for Saving Private Ryan, while I did a review for Legally Blonde. Links were put in reviews connecting to other reviews where there was a name. However, some movies i have not reviewed on the site yet were not linked, but will be whenever i do each of the reviews. Dates were put on to each review on the main reviews page as well.

March 6th
-Massive amount of updates today, but i don't have time to say everything. The about me section was updated EXTENSIVELY with a LONG bio on me as well as many other things, and there are also new reviews by Vm1 for Atlantis: the Lost Empire and Cast Away. We may have a new member of our reviewing team soon, but i'll talk more about that later.

March 3rd
-The only thing done today was the review for Training Day.

March 1st
-Today the opinions and stories sections are finally up. Also, my top ten anticipated movies of 2002 are up, and can be found in the movie reviews section. Check it out.

February 27th
-Well today brought on a nice slew of updates starting with the review for Black Hawk Down finally making its appearance, as well as the Coyote Ugly review. Both had been 1/2 finished, so I finally finished them. Kiss of the Dragon will be my next review, followed by Training Day. My schedule has also been updated extensively with a list that goes all the way to next December. The Top 10 of 2001 at the moment has been posted, and the Oscar noms have been posted in the Entertainment News section. You can also find a new update for the entertainment news there that includes the BAFTA winners.

February 25th
-It's been a very long time (almost a month) since I last updated and there are very good reasons for this. First of all, on February 5th, one of my Deep River friends died. It was a terrible experience and I went to Deep River that weekend for her funeral and wake. An In Memoriam section will be up later with a part for her as well. This actually took me around two or three weeks to get over. I also saw Black Hawk Down sometime during that next week, but never got into the mood for writing a review for it. I have written a review for it and it is now up. That being said, I also missed two movies on my schedule because of this (In the Bedroom and Amelie). The other reason I didn't update extensively this weekend was because I was sick with the flu for the last week or so. So I am going to try to get everything updated as fast as possible. I also bought the Vista Series 2 disc set for The Sixth Sense which is another very excellent movie. I will be reviewing many movies for the next couple months as I have many that I need to do including Training Day, Princess Diaries, Chocolat, Coyote Ugly, Kiss of the Dragon, Me Myself and Irene, and Legally Blonde to name about an eighth of the amount of movies I have to review. The Others and A Beautiful Mind come out interestingly enough at the same time on May 14th, both of which I intend to buy. I also intend to see Resident Evil, Blade 2, and Spider-Man in theatres.

January 29th
-Not too much today...I wrote a review for Jurassic Park 3 yesterday, and I added it today. I'm hoping to be able to do more in the next two weeks but I may not be able to...with piano, and all the work from school piling up again, I am going to be less on the computer again. I hope to do the Kiss of the Dragon review soon, but don't expect the newsletter in your inbox right on the 1st of February. It'll probably be in there by after the weekend. And of course I am thinking of maybe watching Birthday Girl instead of In the Bedroom on the weekend, +we get our dvd player so I will be watching Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, and Memento among others again.

January 24th
-Some more stuff has happened...first off, I saw A Beautiful Mind, and the review for it is up...the Golden Globes have also happened, and you can find out who won in all the movie categories in the Entertainment News section. My thoughts on the winners will be coming soon. Movie trivia should start up again very soon, and I also saw Kiss of the Dragon and am going to see Jurassic Park III on Friday. Plus, we get our dvd player which we ordered in December on the 31st of January, so expect reviews for Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, and The Usual Suspects after I watch them all again. Screenshots have also been put up of each of the sites in my webring on the Newsletter/Webring section.

January 19th
-Well, I have several things to report today. First off, I saw Ghost World, and a review for that has been done. Second, there are now little pics beside new reviews that say *new* and beside movies that are still in theatres there are little pics that say *in theatres*. Also, the About Me section is slowly going ahead again, with the subsection Me & the Movies. This subsection at the moment has my schedule for watching/reviewing movies for the next two months, my dvds I own, and the top ten list of 2001 will be there as well. However, the list will not be posted until end of January, and the list can and probably will change until mid-March, where it will finalize (as there are some movies that have great potential to be there that are not coming out on video till March.) Some other stuff that will be there later on will be my favourite movie people and biographies for all of them, my favourite movies of all time and shrines to them as well, and review ratios, and statistics, so the Me & the Movies section will be quite big. The newsletter/webring section is also finally back up again. And the trivia section should be updated again soon. Don't expect too much from me for the next week as I have five tests one each day. So anyway, take a look at my Me & the Movies section, and my Ghost World review.

January 13th
-Whoa, a new record for me. 4 reviews during a weekend. I did the long awaited and promised reviews for Antitrust and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, I saw Planet of the Apes and did a review for that, and finally I went to Bytowne Cinema (standing in line for an hour I might add!) to see Gosford Park, and I just finished the review for that.

January 10th
-Not much was done today...Added my own review for Swordfish, so you can check out the differences between my opinion and Vm1's...A link was set up to the new page from the old.

January 9th
-Today a couple things were done. The About Me section had a very small bit added, the entertainment news section got an update report, and a new review was added for JFK. Check these out.

January 7th
-Today was the first day of school and a bad day for the site. CuteFTP deleted my files while transferring to my cousin's computer, and I spent 2 hours recovering all the files. I might be able to do a review today; however, this is not likely as my bro is probably going to use the computer. It is later today now, and I know I won't have time to do a review. However the next two reviews by me will be for JFK and maybe Swordfish. Vm1 has loaded two new reviews in, Swordfish, and Kiss of the Dragon. Check those out. Movie Trivia will be updated next time.

January 6th
-Tomorrow's the first day of school so I won't be updating as much. For the last six days, I have been working on a new layout, which you see before you now. However, because I have not had time yet, only the Movie Reviews and the Entertainment News sections are up, and the Entertainment News Section has not been updated since mid-December. However, my cousin Vm1 has done a review for The Negotiator, which you can check out in the movie reviews section. By the end of the week, the rest of the sections should be up, and the Entertainment News section should be updated. Also, I just saw JFK, so expect a review for that coming later.

January 1st
-Happy New Year! A good start to a new year for the site, as I did my first review of 2002 today. The Ali review is up, and you can check it out in the movie reviews section. Also, the newsletter was sent out last night as planned.
