On January 31, 2025, Topps sent out a 'Bowman U NOW® Basketball!' blast email around 6pm CT, that included a small 'GPK Valentine's Day' image, seen above, within the 'Coming Soon' section, and on February 03, 2025, around 4:45pm CT, within the 'Coming This Week' section. On February 03, 2025, posted the second Valentine's Day advert, seen further below, showcasing three card images and a mini valentine chase card. On February 04, 2025, Topps sent out a blast email at 12pm CT, titled, '2025 Topps Garbage Pail Kids: Valentine's Day is here!' with the same advert with a 'SHOP NOW' button. 02. The OS7 Chrome & Sapphire sets were created in tandem, with concepts tunred into Topps as early as November 2023 and artwork completed by January & February 2024. As with the OS7 Chrome set, the Sapphire set was intended to be released during the 2024 calendar year. Similar to the OS7 Chrome release, Topps created a landing page for the OS7 Chrome Sapphire drop, with the OS7 Chrome information listed at the bottom under "Previous Releases", which posted to their website on Monday, March 10, 2025. The Topps front page had "Coming Soon: 2024 Topps Chrome® Sapphire Garbage Pail Kids" listed within their 'Trending Now' section, and "Available Soon: Topps Garbage Pail Kids Chrome®" & "Upcoming Releases: 2024 Topps Chrome® Sapphire Garbage Pail Kids - Coming March 12th at 12:00 PM ET" listed within the landing page, which included the drop information. On March 11, 2025, artist JOE Simko took to his social media channels to post a picture of card S8 KIP Shining (Keep shining)—a GPK character tribute for cards 278a Have a Nice DAVE & 278b MILES Smiles, stating, "GPK Sapphire set. Topps posted their 2024 GPK Sapphire Edition #5 box online on March 12, 2025, at 12pm ET, and was initually planned to be released in the 2024 calendar year. The box included 32 trading cards, 8 packs per box & 4 cards per pack, featured artwork from the OS7 set, plus new artwork and an exclusive subset, with a price tag of $109.99—limited to 10 per customer, or $1099.99—limited to 3 per customer, for a case. On May 22, 2025, artist DAVID Gross took to Facebook to subtly hint at the next GPK online release, stating, "Been a bit quiet on the GPK release front but this is INTEResting. Looks like week 4-6 of...something. Which must mean weeks 1-3 are starting...next Thursday! (And no, it's not the 40th set - that's coming soon!)" Gross was hinting at the upcoming online booster sets for the InterGOOlactic Mayhem thematic set, that was released in November 2023, with the word 'INTEResting', and showed an upside-down stack of completed paintings, and outlined that his pieces would be released during weeks #4 through #6, which means artist BRENT Engstrom's work would be released for weeks #1 through #3. The concepts sketches were turned into Topps in late February, early March, and the final images were completed in late March through early April.

On May 28, 2025, Topps took to Facebook to announce their new, six-week release, stating, "Intergoolactic Mayhem is back! Look out for a new weekly offering every Thursday.", showcasing an advertisement sheet with artwork by BRENT Engstrom. As with the recent online weekly sets, the advert shows a regular card, a wrapper parallel chase card, and a gold foil wrapper parallel chase card, for Wave 1, available 5.29 exclusively on Topps.com. On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 10:25am CT, Topps took to Facebook to announce the new 'Oh The Horrible' online weekly sets, with the Wave/Week 1 advert (pictured above), stating, "COMING SOON: Wave 1 of Garbage Pail Kids Oh The Horrible arrives tomorrow on Topps.com!", depicting main artwork created by GPK artists BRENT Engstrom. The brand name stems from the 'Oh, the Horror-ible' retail and hobby sets released in 2018 and 2019, and subsequent online releases. In line with recent GPK releases in 2025, which have been much more difficult to collate, Topps is introducing a 'short print (SP)' to the horror online drops, in this case, a super short print Trick or Treat insert card, with artwork by artist Smokin' JOE McWilliams, with an OS GPKid in a Hallowe'en costume.

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 11am CT, Topps dropped the first wave of their 'Oh The Horrible' sets to their online shop, costing $19.99 for the 10-card set plus a chance at a wrapper card, gold-foil wrapper card, or a Trick or Treat OS costume character card. Topps updated their frontpage website with a GPK trending image for their 'Trending Now' section "Shop Now — 2025 Topps Garbage Pail Kids: Oh the Horrible" and a pack image within their 'Just Dropped' section with a "Available Until Oct 2" with title and price tag. The release was also pictured within the 'Trending Now' section of their mass, blast email send around 4:53pm CT, on the same day. On Friday, September 26, 2025, at 2pm CT, Topps sent out a blast email with the subject 'Live | 2025 Topps Garbage Pail Kids: Oh the Horrible Wave 1!', which included the Wave/Week 1 advert image and stating 'Shop Now', and on September 27, at 1:30pm CT, mentioned within the 'Trending Now' section.

Topps took to Facebook on October 09, 2025, to announce the next weekly set by simply stating, "Wave 3 of GPK Oh The Horrible is available now!", showcasing the same advert depicting main artwork created by GPK artists BRENT Engstrom and a SSP Trick or Treat insert artwork by artist Smokin' JOE McWilliams, with an OS GPKid in a Hallowe'en costume. The set showed up as a 'pack image' within the 'Just Dropped (New This Week)' and 'Explore' sections within their website, but no 'trending image' within their 'Trending' section, however. A blast email with the subject '2025 Topps Garbage Pail Kids: Oh the Horrible Wave 3 is here!' was sent out the same day around 3pm CT with the Wave/Week 3 advert.



NOTE: Per artist BRENT Engstrom, "I had submitted [an additional concept] just in case my Society one (face coming out of a butt) got rejected. It did, so I got the vampire one in. It's a low budget horror movie that was made in Wishita KS." The suggested nomenclature was ZACK Side and Society SAM.

NOTE, the ad inadvertently stated 'Wave 5', rather than 'Wave 6', and most likely won't be corrected. The set showed up as a 'pack image' within the 'Just Dropped (New This Week)' section within their website, but not in the 'Explore' section. No 'trending image' within their 'Trending' section, either.

On October 31, 2025, artist DAVID Gross took to his social media channels to post the artwork for sale, stating, "Garbage Pail Kids Horror Paintings and Pencil Art for SALE! The new pieces I did for the current set out now at Topps.com. 1/1, all hand done and used to make the cards. Paintings run from $1900-2400 and Pencil Art is $250-325. DM me if interested in any! I also have many horror pieces from the previous series as well! Happy Halloween!"

The same day, artist JOE Simko posted the Cyndi Lauper caricature card from the ad, stating, "My painting for the GPK Rock and Roll Hall of Fame set. Available tomorrow at Topps.com" NOTE, during my visit to NYC for the NYCC, I was able to assist Simko with the concept of the character, who was coming up blank, and suggesting he just show her painting herself, similar to the 2019 duo PNS promo card that JOE & BRENT Engstrom painted of themselves. On November 06, 2025, at roughly 10:00am CT, Topps posted the advertisement to their Facebook GPK page, simply stating, "GPK Rock N Roll Hall of Lame is available now!" The set showed up as a 'pack image' within the 'Just Dropped (New This Week)' section within their website, but not in the 'Explore' section. On November 06, 2025, artist MIKE Stephens took to his social media channels to share the production photos for his New Wave DAVE submission, stating, "My latest painting for the newest GPK release 'Hall of Lame'. Here’s some fun process shots if you’re into that kinda thing." MIKE's FB post was wordier, explaining, "Here's some progress shots of a recent painting for one of Topps' newest releases. If you have a keen eye, you can find a few of my closest GPK art-buds immortalized on the wall! Originally, I had rats in the foreground, which I think gave this piece a lot more perspective. The art director feared that they would get covered by the nameplate, so I removed them." The artwork contained graffiti shout-outs to some of Stephens fellow sketch card artist comrades, including, Eddie (Rhodes), Kimber (Grobman), GPK Nik (Castaneda), Rob(ert Harris), and J.Boom (Justin Olson). NOTE, Stephens mentioned he forgot to add the teardrop as he was working so quick to meet the deadline within one on his comments.
