— There is a very lengthy, and longwinded case study on this character's set of Eyebrows within the OS7 page, within the GPK History section. Minus the 2024 Abram's GPK calendar printed image, and the 2011 Flashback Series 2 WATN? card back for cards 78a & 78b, the GPK Chrome 7 set is the first card front release for the vanishing eyebrows for cards 251a—251c. The character image is also found on the puzzle preview cards (#258 + #281) and the alarming puzzle piece (#261), where the set of eyebrows are in high-def. — The release contains two different yellow Checklist Cards, both with a light-blue header; the base-card checklist 290a—290c for cards 251a—292b & AN-1a—AN-8b, and the Art by Rory chase checklist R-290a for cards R-251a—R-292a. The original series 7 completed puzzle preview card and border puzzle pieces all had a blue border, instead of yellow, as with this new release; the 9-card puzzle for the Khrome Krashers subset has a blue border.

— The infamous Fruit Slots, aka 'one-armed bandits' or 'AWPs' (amusement with prizes), are a type of slot machine that utilize the classic casino slot symbols such as cherries, apples, lemons, 7's, BARs, bells, etcetera, and were invented in the UK in the 1960s as an offshoot of slot machines as a loophole in the British Betting and Gaming Act. slot machines For those out there familiar with fruit emojis and their possible innuendoes, the 'slut machine' artwork by JOE Simko, after Pound, for WATN? card W-256a JACK Pot, can be seen with a winning pay-LOAD of a peach (butt), eggplant/aubergine (phallic penis), and water 'squirt', that has caused the dirty-minded slot machine to happily vomit in a pleasureable way. Even with inflation over 40 years, it's good to see the machine still only costs 25¢ a play!

— Per Facebook post by artist DAVID Gross, on February 19, 2025, announcing his 'Garbage Pail Kids Chrome 7 FINAL PAINTINGS for sale!', notating, 'NOTE: Katy Perry was in the set but was pulled before printing."; the Garbage Music Awards subset. The image, of course, looks very familiar... on March 10, 2024, Gross had posted the image to his social media channels stating, "Unused Katy Perry Garbage Pail Kids card pulled from a set that I’ll have available (sans logos) at Gross Card Con in Las Vegas March 16/17." Artwork for the GPK Chrome 7 set was completed by the end of February 2024; more information on the Katy Perry piece can be located within the Con & Fests page. Topps has not released a GPK Shammys (Grammys) online set since 2021, due to some backlash.

— Per Facebook post by artist Smokin' JOE McWilliams, on February 19, 2025, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, showcasing a second piece of Unpublished Artwork that did not make it into the music subset, stating, "Garbage Kids CHROME series 7 is out and collectors are tearing open packs! Here's one I painted for the 'American Garbage Music Awards' subset... but ultimately [it] was rejected and not used in the set (I believe). The story goes... in 1996, Garth Brooks won the Favorite artist of the year award, but refused to accept it... and left it sitting on the podium. And then TLC went up on stage and said 'If he doesn't want it, we'll take it!', and walked off stage with it."

— Additionally, a skateboarding kid, painted by artist BRENT Engstrom, with the character using his tongue as the physical skateboard, somehow didn't make it into the Contest of Losers subset. This final artwork will hopefully make it into a future release. Engstrom has been working on GPK for over twenties years now, so it's only natural to see some of the artists paying tribute to their own artwork. If the character image for cards 6a Leaky LINDSAY & 6b Surfing SOPHIE, from the Contests of Garbage subset, looks familiar, a similar Artwork Concept was used within the 2013 BNS2 set for cards 58a Surf's Up CHUCK & 58b Regurgi TATE, but with vomit instead of snot.

— Considering set content is always changing and/or progressing over time, and since the set has been mega-sized to fill the void of the regular retail & hobby release, the new chrome set contains a few new chase items to seduce collectors into buying more packs and boxes. One such item, that really sticks out for the new release, is the base Card Negative.

— As seen and outlined by current sketch-card regulations, Topps has given a wide berth to certain topics and subject matter—due to thin-skinned society and sensitivity issues these days—so four OS7 Reverse Card Backs, by veteran GPK artist TOM Bunk, were replaced by four new card backs, by artist BRENT Engstrom. Bunk's original 'File Cards' for cards #263 Large MARGE (body index), #267 Vile KYLE (body index + child harm), #282 LUKE Warm (child harm) & #291 Dead FRED (weapon + mass shootings) were replaced with new character profiles by Engstrom, with GPK characters DIDI T., DALE Snail, FRANK N. Stein & ALI Gator, respectively.



CONT'D: New GPK character profiles were also created for the all-new artwork reverse card backs, for AN-1 through AN-8 cards, and 'File Cards' for GPK characters Muscular MOLLY, Creepy CAROL, Mushy MARSHA, Pegleg PETE (should be 'PETER'), NAT Nerd, Unzipped ZACH, Wrappin' RUTH & Lizard LIZ, respectively. The 'File Card' GPK character profiles for Swollen SUE ELLEN and Cracked JACK may have been created as extra, replacement reverse card backs, but unused.

— I have misspelled 'RUSS Pus' as 'RUSS Puss' so many times on this website, and it seems I'm not alone... , but I'm really shocked that Topps spelled it correctly. Both mock-ups submitted by artists Smokin' JOE McWilliams and RORY McQueen have the misspelling of 'RUSS Puss'. Artist McQueen took to social media on February 15, 2025, to post his character mock-up and mentioned, "Garbage Pail Kids Chrome 7! Russ Puss filling up a bowl. Lovely!", and artist McWilliams took to social media on March 18, 2025, to share his mock-up image for the character and said, "Garbage Pail Kids CHROME series 7 has been out for a few weeks and collectors are still Pumped Up!! From the 'Where Are They Now?' subset... RUSS Puss. I Gave him the Acne AMY clean up where all the pimple popping paid off... buff, tattooed and handsome... 'Ladies, How you doin'?'"

— Per Odds sheet for the Chrome Sapphire online release, the 'Remember the Name' short-print subset was tentatively called 'GPK Faux Sigs', or perhaps a placeholder name. The 'Art of Rory' was referred to as 'Rory McQueen Image Variation Art', The 'A Garbage Music Awards' was shortened to the 'AGMA' acronym, and the 'Superfractor Sean' card was simply called the 'GPK Collector Card', seen on the card backside. The variation information for this Collector Card was missing from the original Chrome Odds Sheet, but appeared on the sapphire sheet, without odd ratios.

— Although the OS7 Sapphire Chrome set is a separate online release, it's still the same exact material as the Chrome OS7 hobby/retail release, and was produced at the same time, having sequential Product Code Numbers. One reason the OS7 Sapphire Chrome can be seen listed within the Topps.com online 'Odds' chart.

Per ToppsRIPPED, their definition of a sketch card: Sketch Cards are one-of-one, hand-drawn cards created by the licensed artist from a particular set. They are the same size as regular trading cards and include the artist’s signature.

Due to the previously pending Chrome 7 and ditched 2024S2 retail/hobby set, the now combined Chrome OS7 mega set release is the first chrome release containing sketch cards, and the twenty-seventh major Garbage Pail Kids set to include sketch cards numbering 1/1, one-of-a-kind, found within hobby boxes only. The last major release, Kids at Play, had sixty-eight sketch artists involved, and this first-time chrome release has a staggering ninety-five sketch cartists within its ranks, with eighteen rookies. The Topps Company has rolled out a new sketch-card format for the release, adopting a universal blank card for all hobby/retail release going forward, so considering no longer theme-specific, there won't be a way of associating what release the sketch card came from. This new, four-card tiered system has done away with the panoramic sketches, triptych, loaded puzzles, etcetera, from the line-up, and will focus more on artwork quality assurance and control.

Topps/Fanatics has made changes to it’s sketch card program. They will no longer be offering loaded (4-card puzzle), triptych or pano sketch cards. They have replaced that with a tiered system of green, silver, gold and black trading card shaped (2.5x3.5) sketch cards. Green being the most common, and Black being the rarest! This new tiered system has divided both artists and collectors on whether or not it creates an improvement over the old system. Like it, or lump it, let Topps hear how you feel about it!
