 Belial (strategy provided by T.Kawanishi, Japan)
This is where my highest level reached in my first 3 days AC GRADIUS IV experience. (The machine I played has no continue. And before that, I never saw people playing at or after the 3rd stage boss.) By the time, I didn't even remember the face of the boss because I only have 1 life left and I were busy concentrate on escape from it's attack. I knew it is not a normal boss. After that, I went far less frequently to game centre playing the G4 machine because of money problem... .
Later, I got great pleasure to be noticed by T.Kawanishi a very fast method in destroying the Belial(actually the name "Belial" is provided by him too). I were shocked by the time after reading his message. I named it the Super Ultimate Strategy because I found out later that it is of very useful and powerful ! Below is what Mr. Kawanishi wrote:
" If you have full powerup with rapid fire, you can destroy Belial(stage-6 boss) quickly. If select Type/G4A, this method is more effective. See below URL(GIF image) and illustlation.

1. The boss opens his eye for the 1st time, shoot it slowly.
2. Then shoot shot&missile rapidly.
3. If shooting the eye effectively, at the 3rd time he opens his eye, the boss will be dead.
4. Finally, the eye scatter 32 lasers x2. Be careful of it! "

Let me explain it in detail. Firstly, locate Options and Vic Viper in these positions before the appearance of the boss. Hold your fire. In the first time of eye open, give it some shot but do not too much. Otherwise the boss will change fight mode and make the situation become dangerous.
In the second time of eye open, turn on your rapid fire. This method is actually work for all types of weapons, but just one situation that you may not able to destroy it so quickly. If this is the case, take your chance to move back to the left at this time(in picture 5).
In perfect, this boss can be destroyed without any move of Vic Viper when equipped with Vertical Mine. I also successed destroying it without any move of Vic Viper with Flying Torpedo, both in PS2 and AC. Spread Bomb is also possible (as I tried once) but the timing needs to be very accurate. At this time, don't be happy too early. Watch out for it's last attack, the 32x2 lasers groups!
Move back to the left and get ready for it's final laser attack. The boss will scatter two groups of laser, each with 32 beams, quickly. Remember their positions now!

This is strange that, in the arcade version, the whole game speed will slow down a lot in the explosion of Belial.
