September 20, 2004: New Champion Crowned; next GPW show?
*A new GPW Light Heavyweight Champion was crowned on August 21, 2004 in Ozark, AR at the Gymnasium. Newcomer Frank Thornton was awarded the belt when the champion, "Tiger" Treach Phillips, Jr., failed to appear for a scheduled title defense against Thornton. Thornton went on to defeat Running Wolf in an immediate title defense as ordered by the GPW Board of Directors.
*GPW has announced an official hiatus from promoting at least until Summer 2005. Although success has been rampant, the Board of Directors met and voted to regroup and then launch a new and improved company. However, two GPW titles will remain active in the form of Thornton's Light Heavyweight and "The Cajun Sensation" Blade Boudreaux's Global Heavyweight titles. Boudreaux and Thornton will be defending their belts on the top independent shows around the U.S.

November 15, 2003: Meeting Results; International News
*The GPW Board of Directors recently met in Memphis to discuss a number of issues within the company.  The first item discussed was the actions of Tojo Yamamoto Jr. in a recent GPW Global Heavyweight Title match between Blade Boudreaux and challenger Don Bass.  Yamamoto's blatent interference in the match and subsequent result of a title loss for Boudreaux led to a decision to suspend Yamamoto for 90-days.  "Actions such as these will not be tolerated," stated board member Pete Riley of Tulsa, OK.  The Arkansas State Title was put on vote to be brought back but was cast down with a vote of 4-1.  "We feel that too many titles dampen a company," said Commissioner and active board member Boyd Bradford.  Recent negotations were also brought up of an agreement with GPW and a Nigeria wrestling promotion to have the GPW Global Heavyweight Champion Blade Boudreaux represent the company in an international tour.  "I'm excited about the opportunity to defend my belt overseas," said Boudreaux.  The meeting wrapped up shortly thereafter with the next one scheduled for January 4th in Memphis with GPW-Louisiana, the Global Title, and much more on the agenda.
