rhume, i ve taken 2 polariods todae on orchard ... i m not sure it can satisfy u or whether it can reflect the festive mood here (the deco arent as great i feel, understandable cos of the econ) ... and i finally give it up on trying my polariod on night shots, it cant do it. too bad cant let u see orchard at nite. i ll get the pics up soon, wait patiently hor!

gatchaman, that sounds great! :) besides showing me a polaroid... could you also show me one taken with your lomo cam? :) i was really interested in getting one... but sadly america isn't always as advanced and most shops haven't gotten it yet. they must think i'm some country pumpkin when i asked for some "lomo" camera. hehe... :P

i'm happy and glad i can come to study... :) but i guess i'm on a little of the pessimistic side. changing that. so... how's everyone? i want christmas presents fed-exed to me if i cannot come home hor! :) hehe... *lol* just kidding.

having my lunch break from fig drawing class.

tomorrow is thanksgiving. i'm staying in at the dorm and will be contributing 2 dishes to our thanksgiving feast. was requested to cook something from s'pore. but knowing my standard of cooking. :P i decided to cook goreng pisang and guacamole(mexican). i did some research on the net and decided goreng pisang was the easiest and most effective dish i can do. :) wish me luck.

it's pouring outside. i feel mellow as i realise i would be rather "alone" with my relatives here in SF leaving to go back home.

i wonder if i could go home at Christmas too... coz of my student visa i might have some problems.

how's everyone? i'm sure it must be getting rather festive in S'pre? :) Christmas' around the corner. i love Christmas.

this guy work solo on this 11.5 episode 1 of his film ... b grade anime sci-fi plot but impressive craftsmanship (jus look at the stills on the site, u noe what quality i m talking abt), esp for 1 man job. the mov files on his webpage needs quicktime 5 to play ... can go www.pocketmovies.net if u dun ve.
read the FAQ ... he took 10 years developing the story ... impressive sound also, he has got MCM studio to do the sound though.

very very quiet these dayz ... finished 1st book on harry potter, starting on the 2nd .. no wonder it s so popular ... but strangely most successful 'children stories' are actaully quite adult in theme and a bit dark too (convent skools in spore actually banned harry potter). just like the little prince, how can a children actually grasp the meaning behind it? hmmm ... maybe the authors really want to write their stories for adults, but afraid that adults find it childish?

Just recieved the following email from the organiser, Rick Dolishny:

"I have some good news regarding your work "Daydreamer". A local television
station, CityTV, will be doing a feature on TDIF this weekend and asked for
a longer clip of your work.
This is really good news because MediaTV is a very influential program here
in Canada, and their segments stay on their web site mediatv.net forever.
This will be good for you.
Your release to TDIF allows us to use up to 25% of the running time of your
work, and I'm sure they won't use that much, but I wanted to let you know
that they will be showing a clip of your work. Once it airs, I'll post it on

my work The greatest dayDreamer has been selected as best short film of the JIFFest (Jarkarta International Film Fest) Asian Shorts Film Competition. this truly came as total surprise. but i m so glad to get my first international award. on the other hand, i m oso hesitant at the moment abt whether a not to go over jarkarta to rcv the award.

actaulli i oso ve an idea for a crap story jus to show off bullet time sequences ... tot it s marvellous for a while but realise how crap it s gonna be if really produced. there s this kind of handicap in sight, that some ppl r born only to be able to see moving things but not stationary, or vice versa (yaya, like the TRex in jurrasic park, but it s true medical condition, read it in this famous book by a famous anthropologist writer tat i jus cant remember now). i was tinking abt this killer with this condition, so he is borned a super sharp shooter, and neber misses his targets, but only if they are moving ... once they are still, he cant see them ... now can really see the premise for a very B grade storyline is set ... with all this opppurtunities for fancy bullet time sequences ... and chow yuen fatt balleting with his guns john woo style ... and it shall be called 'hard time killer'. cos if the enemies r gonna remain very still, he s gonna have a hard time shooting them down.

I think those bullet sequences must have been a headache for the writers because anyone whose actually seen the matrix is going to bemoan its unoriginality. I think the folks had a pretty interesting idea on their books but they couldn't carry it out well enough. Not even Jet Li can save a lousy storyline and relatively lame movie lines.

there was talk of probable terrorist attacks today and over the weekend. seems like they were expecting some attack on the big bridges. the golden gate and bay bridges in SF. just last night, there was a mad hatter who was chased by policemen in what turned out to be a shoot out just 2 streets from where i stayed. no wonder about the sirens.

anthrax is spreading... from the east coast to the west.

i hope everything at home is fine? :) anything exciting going on?
