we sent off my brother & his wife to UK this morning 3 am. my sis-in-law is sent for a 12-month study there by MOE. bro accompanies her to settle down there & ll be back this coming saturday.
earlier on in the evening before this, we attended sis-in-law 's mum & dad wedding ceremony. i forget how they call it. coz they never had one 30 years ago where they married, so my in-law & her siblings decided to give them one on their 30th anniversary.
her family is quite the anti-thesis of ours. they are pretty outspoken & candid people. that my bro & his wife are together really show the meaning of this often-used term in relationship, 'complementing each other'. it s like good team work in life.
tomorrow s reservist until Friday. it s a few boring days ahead. :: daydreamer 8/25/2003 08:16:00 PM [+]

i tried out the stitch assist mode of my digicam yesterday. i didnt use a tripod (as usual) & line up the different sections by eye in camera. with the help of the bundled software photostitch, i joined them up to a panaromic image. the seams are quite noticable though & i ve to touch up in photoshop.
see also sunset. it s intended to be another panaromic but this time round the seams are too hard to touch up so i gave up the idea & let it remain norm size.
i drew this at primary 6. sure looks like a promising robotics engineer in the making huh.
i like to make booklets & draw superhero teams that imitate after those jap animes like Gatchaman last time. too bad this is the only booklet i kept until now (maybe there are still somemore hiding in some cupboards). i would come up with each member personality, special weapon, vehicle, as well as common gadgets & uniforms. this drawing is the mothership. i would also draw the secret base & their enemies.
i never know what my other classmates would do but this is what i always do during my primary school holidays. if not, i would be writing their stories borrowing from every b-grade plots i get to know of. how come i didnt want to go out & play instead? i must ve been such a boring boy haha! :: daydreamer 8/19/2003 04:37:00 PM [+]

apple told me that my series of hand photos 'all look sadsad', should take happier pics :P actaully it s just an idea i m trying out but probably most of the themes that works better are kinda intense. nevertheless, looking at my blog page of monotone images is indeed a tad too gloomy haha ... shall restore some color i guess! meanwhile, i ve to continue showing what i ve done :P :: daydreamer 8/19/2003 02:10:00 AM [+]

i had a virus scare today. this w32.blaster.worm made an unsuccessful infiltration on my workstation. thanks to norton antivirus. although i do backup my stuffs, this event is enough to make me spent the whole day backing up my files & later digging out every software in my house which name begins with norton.
after installing & running norton utility, i realise that my com system has quite a number of errors, luckily most of which can be repaired, or do not cause much harm.
oh ok ... after typing all this, i recieved emails all over that say it is a worldwide virus outrage. also good in a way, i get to optimise my HD, put on more defences, etc ... things which i ve been neglecting all this while. :: daydreamer 8/12/2003 11:13:00 PM [+]

i ve this idea to do a series of photos on hands like this one. don't think it s very original there must be thousands of ppl who done it before, but i tried it out just now anyway. it isnt as easy as i thought. many hand positions won't work out unless i m shooting another person 's hands. nevertheless i think i should stick to using my own pair of hands ... it would be rather interesting to find out what kinda extreme positions i can go into in order to get my pair of hands infront of my cam the way i want it to. this is the most successful one so far. however it s too easily achieved, well, maybe for a start.
btw, in order not to make this look too arty & serious, i came up with the idea while i was looking at my grasped hands in the toilet. :: daydreamer 8/11/2003 10:37:00 PM [+]

i forget why i want to take this pic this way that night ... i m not a big fan of Star Wars afterall.
2 sequences of 3D animatics i ve done so far for my short animation, K I T E. for layman frens, it s not too audience friendly coz it s for previsualisation purpose. *right click, save target as*
thankx to hweeling, i finally find out what s cross processing, after saigonapple brought it up to me quite sometime ago. it is processing slides using the method for processing normal prints (C41 process), & the colors ll turn out pretty different. as to the more detailed & accurate explanation, she has pointed me to photojunkie.
1 interesting thing i find out is that cross process can also mean the other way round - developing normal prints with the slide process (E6). only that the results are unpredictable. :: daydreamer 8/02/2003 09:56:00 PM [+]
