Ike gasped as he saw whom it was. “Noey,” he whispered, gently running his fingers down her cheekbone. She turned her head a bit, putting the right side of her face in his hand. “Geez, Noe, you really know how to scare a guy.”
With that, he kissed her on the forehead. As he stood up, he gave a light laugh after seeing a small smile playing on Noelle’s lips. Isaac sat down on the chair next to her bed. “Noey, Noey, Noey,” he sighed slightly. Her eyes began rapidly moving. After a few seconds, Isaac could see her bright baby blues.
“Ike?” she asked, confused, yet happy to see him.
“Hey there, cutie,” Isaac replied, smiling.
Noelle returned the smile. “Thanks for taking so much of that pain for me,” she spoke softly.
“Huh?”
“Well, you did have a really bad headache, right?” Noelle asked.
“Yea…and nausea. How—wha?” Ike asked, confused.
“Remember the voice?”
“Yea…”
“Well, when you talked back, thought back rather, you took quite a bit of pain from me. You could have stopped there, but you took more. That’s what caused that nausea. Thanks to you, I didn’t wake up with really bad cases of either…thank you,” Noelle said softly.
“Oh…you’re welcome,” Isaac replied.
“Noelle!” Carol exclaimed as she walked in. She ran to her daughter and hugged her.
“Ike, Baby, are you okay?” Diana asked, putting an arm around her son.
“Oh, um, yea. I still have a slight headache, but that’s it,” Isaac replied, still a bit confused about Noelle had just told him.
“That’s good, Baby,” Diana said, kissing her son’s forehead.
He nodded his head and hugged his mom. ‘Man, I’m gonna have to talk to Noe alone later…she told me some weird stuff,’ Ike thought. He looked over at Noelle. She looked about as healthy as he did. ‘Strange. Definitely strange.’
