+chapter.four+

As the week passed, Isaac, Taylor, Zac, Noelle, Felicity, and Collette hung out tons. They became really great friends. Noelle took a bold step and asked Isaac to go to her end of the year dance at her school. Isaac accepted and she was shocked. Collette had asked Taylor and Felicity had asked Zachary. Both boys had accepted. And so Friday came. The girls went to school as usual.

Later that night, they met at Noelle’s house and waited for the guys to come. They came and picked the girls up at seven o’clock. The guys were way romantic and stayed with their dates all night.

Noelle’s stomach began to turn in the midst of the dance. She excused herself and went to the bathroom, some nasty bug creeping in her, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. That was definitely it. She was having the time of her life out there with Isaac. Why did this have to start then?

After about ten minutes, Isaac began to worry about Noelle. He went to the dance floor to find either Felicity or Collette. He spotted Col trying to show Tay how to do the “Cotton Eye Joe”. He walked over to the two and spoke, “Hey, Col, can you see if Noelle is okay? She went into the bathroom like, ten minutes ago.”

“Oh, yea, sure,” Col replied. Collette was used to this. Noelle would usually leave her date hanging while she went in the bathroom and gossiped with other friends. Collette jogged to the restroom while Tay and Ike attempted to do the “Cotton Eye Joe”.

Col walked in the bathroom to see Noelle sitting in a chair in the corner of the lounge area. She seemed to be asleep. She was really pale too. Kim walked over to Noelle and gently shook her. “Noe, Noey, wake up.”

“Hmm?” Noelle answered, dazed.

“You okay?” Col asked.

“I don’t know. I don’t feel too great. My stomach’s bothering me,” Noelle replied.

“Yea, you look it. Maybe I should have Ike drive you home,” Collette suggested. “No! Please!” Noe pleaded.

“Noe, you’re sick. You have to go home,” Col told her.

Noelle sighed. “Fine.”

“You wait outside the door and I’ll tell Isaac you need to go home, okay?” Col questioned.

Noelle nodded, a sharp headache forming in her sinus areas.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Isaac and Taylor’s attempts of the “Cotton Eye Joe” were horrendous. It was a good thing the song was almost over when they started. Collette came up to the two tired guys and pulled Ike to the side so he could hear her better. “Ike, Noe’s kinda sick. I was wondering if you could maybe drive her home,” she asked. “Of course! I guess I’ll stay home afterwards. You guys call me when you’re ready,” Isaac replied.

“Okay. Noelle is in the hall. She has her jacket. You just have to get yours,” Col told him.

“Okay. Tell the others that I said bye,” Isaac replied and left the dance floor to find Noelle.
