"Hey, Jenn, wait up!"
"Okay...I'm waiting," Jenn said, tapping her shoe on the cold sidewalk, as she waited for her friend.
"Okay, I'm here," Kim said out of breath. The two girls had just been dismissed for a long four day weekend. They had tons of plans and couldn't wait for them to start. The had a dance and their high school Friday night, a trip to the movies Saturday, and day of rest Sunday, a day at Six Flags on Monday, and last but not least a trip to the mall Tuesday.
"I can't wait for this weekend. It's going to be the best weekend of my life. So much to do and see...not to mention so many hot high school boys to dance with tonight."
"Yeah well you and I both know that you can't wait for the dance just because Sean will be there!" Kim gave an evil smirk. Jenn had liked Sean for a few months now, ever since they started school.
"No!" she exclaimed, blushing and turning away just a little hoping Kim wouldn't see.
"Yeah, that's what you say now, but as soon as you see him, you know you'll be all over him!"
Jenn didn't have a response, because she knew her friend was right. Just then, they heard a voice, which they both knew all to well.
"Hey, ladies, what's going on?"
"What do you want?" Jenn pushed his arm of her shoulder.
"Geez, Jenn. Watch the hostility. Just wondering if you two were going to the dance tonight..."
Jennifer stuck her tongue out at Taylor as Kim smiled excitedly. “I am!”
"And you Jenn?"
"Yeah, why?"
"No reason!"
"Oh, yeah, I'm so sure, you, Taylor Hanson, mean to tell me you have no weird plans for tonight?"
"Well I never said that now did I?" All the time Jenn and Taylor were talking Kim just stared into his big blue eyes. She had always had a crush on him, but never could get he courage to say anything, and now here he was talking to her and her friend with his arm around her shoulder. She thought about how great it would be if she was his girl and could dance with him all night at the dance, but that would never happen. Taylor was the most popular boy in school, star of the soccer team, and every girl wanted him, including Kim. It would be too much of an awkward feeling between the two. She and Taylor had been friends for years along with Jenn and the rest of their group. Boy, how she would love to be his though. She just kept drifting and drifting into her little dream world until she heard, "Kim...yo, earth to Kim do you read me?" Tay waved his palm in front of her face. "Oh, yeah...you're coming in loud and clear," she spoke, snapping out of her daydream.
"Okay, and what were you thinking about when we lost your signal?" Tay asked, sarcastically.
"Oh, me? Just all the homework that I have to do." Both, she and Jenn, knew they didn't have any.
"Oh...Okay. Well, I guess I will see you to at the dance. Save me a dance, Kim. Okay?"
"Yeah! Sure!" she exclaimed with delight and blushed almost as much as he did.
"Bye, Tay," Kim and Jenn waved together.
"Bye guys...or...girls should I say!" he smiled and waved and went on his way.
"Man, Kim, you have the biggest crush on that boy I have ever seen!"
"Not as big as the one you have for Sean."
"Well, at least I can talk to him. By the way, what were you thinking about when you zoned out?"
"Oh, it can wait till we get to my house," Kim spoke as they started walking to her house. They were going get dressed and ready for the dance at Kim's house, and then afterwards, Jenn would sleep over. It was definitely going to be a fun night!

Later...

"Okay, now can you tell me what you were day dreaming about?" Jenn asked.
"Who else? Taylor!" Kim exclaimed with a smirk, as she and Jenn were getting ready. They were picking out clothes, doing their hair, and putting on make-up.
"Man, you should tell him or at least show him how you feel. I mean how long have you liked him?"
"I know I should, but I'm not his type. He's into popular, skinny, beautiful, and attractive girls. And God knows he can have who ever he wants. I mean he is the most popular boy in school."
"Yeah, but did you hear what he said? 'Save me a dance Kim!'" she mimicked in a deep voice. "You know he likes you. I mean, dance with him, talk to him. You know he always hangs out with us and all, so take advantage of the situation, Dear."
"I know, I know, but I he probably only said that because he feels sorry for me. I will dance one dance with him and then I won't see him the rest of the night. All the girls will be hounding him!"
"Well, he's gonna be with us all this weekend, so if you can't make your move tonight you have the rest of the weekend to try! I mean, you are going to make a move right?" There was no response from her friend. Jenn began to worry. "Kim? You are going to right?" But before she could get an answer, a horn honked. Kim raced to the window to see Cathy, their other friend, and her mom waiting in the car to take them to the dance. The two raced down the stairs into the kitchen, saying by to Kim's mom and ran out the front door. "Come on guys, let's go," Cathy said, impatiently.
"We're coming," they spoke in unison.
"Thanks for picking us up, Cath!"
"No prob! Just get in so we can go and have some fun!"

"Man, this music rocks," Jenn smiled, dancing to the beat.
"Yeah, but where is the rest of the gang?" Kim wondered aloud.
"Remember? Eddie and Sean are coming together and Courtney isn't feeling to swift...Hey Rick!" she yelled across the room and ran off in his direction. Jenn and Kim were talking about their day when they heard a lot of noise coming from the entrance of the gym.
"What's going on?"
"I don't know you tell me," she spoke. "You're taller than I am." Then, she pulled a girl to the side and asked her the same question.
"Oh that," the senior said, "The Hanson boys are here. It happens all the time, don't worry it will be over soon and the dance can start again. Only this time better!" the girl exclaimed with a smile, waving and walking off to go to a group of friends.
"Man, all that commotion over Tay. Jenn, see what I mean I don't have a chance with him!" Jenn was paying no attention to Kim. At that moment, Sean and Eddie walked in. When they got in, Tay gave them a shake and they talked for a few seconds. All the while, Jenn was watching closely with her big blue eyes. Then, the three boys headed their way.
"Here they come, Kim. How do I look?" Jenn was asking as she fixed her hair.
"Fine."
"Just fine?" Jenn got in before the boys came up.
"Hey guys," Sean smiled at the both of them, but really only looking at Jenn.
"Hey," they spoke together. And then Kim saw Taylor. He looked so hot. He was wearing a pair of baggy black jeans, and a red shirt that hugged him, and his maroon Docs.
"Hey ladies, you are both looking very nice tonight!" Tay smiled. Jenn was wearing a pair of khaki bells and a light blue shirt, which by the way was Sean's fave color. And Kim was wearing black bells and a light pink 3/4 sleeve v-neck. They both looked very nice, and Tay as well as Sean knew it.
"Hey guys, I'm gonna go find Mike and see what he's up to. See ya later," Eddie waved and walked across the gym.
"Well, I guess it's just the four of us now!" Tay smiled as he looked at Kim.
"Yup," the others agreed. They all sat down after getting something to drink.
Just then, a girl came over to Tay and spoke, "Excuse me, my friend over there was just wondering if you could dance the first slow song with her?" She pointed to girl who was sitting with some other girls, giggling and looking his way.
"I'm really sorry. I would love to and all, but I already have someone else to dance with," he spoke kindly, as she nodded and walked back to her friends with the disappointing news.
"Jenn, come with me I have to go to the bathroom," Kim spoke, knowing Jennifer understood.
"Okay," they both walked together to the bathroom and left the two boys talking.
"Sean, do you ever notice that girls never go to the bathroom by themselves?"
"Yeah, they always seem to go in pairs," Sean nodded. The two boys started laughing and talking about other things that girls do that are weird. Little did they know the girls were talking about them in the bathroom!

"Jenn, did you hear he already has someone to dance with?"
"Yeah you, Dumbo," she replied sarcastically, checking herself over in the mirror. Jenn was always the type to be worrying about her looks in a time like this. "If he was gonna ask someone else don't you think he would be sitting with them and not you?" Just then the DJ announced that after this song he was gonna play the first slow song of the night. "Did you hear that, Jenn? My life is soon to be over."
"No, it has only just begun. Now let's get out there so they can ask us. Don't say a word, you and I both know he will ask you, so I don't wanna hear any more about it," she said as she pulled Kim out the door and back to where the guys were sitting.
"Hey, we thought you guys had fallen in," Sean joked.
"Yeah. What took so long?" Tay asked.
"Hey, primping doesn't take like, two seconds boys. Chill," Jenn smiled, thinking up something as fast as she could. As they sat down the slow song began to play. Jenn looked at Sean who stood up and put his hand out. Without saying a word, she accepted and they went off to dance. Then, another girl came up to Tay. She was beautiful. She had long blonde hair and was very skinny not to mention very popular.
"Tay, would ya like to dance?" she asked and Kim knew that he would answer yes. This was his type of girl, but he just shook his head with a smile and she walked away. Tay then stood up and walked passed Kim her heart sunk. She felt tears begin to well up in her eyes. Just then she felt two hands on her shoulder. Thinking she would find Jenn ready to counsel her, she turned around to her surprise to see Tay's baby blues. They both smiled at each other.
"You didn't think I was gonna let you sit here alone did you?"
"Well..." she said with a light smile.
"Oh come on, dance with me!" With that, she took his hand and they began to dance. As he put his strong arms around her, she felt so safe. She was rather far away from him so he pulled her closer, their bodies touching.
"Don't be afraid of me," he whispered with a gentle smile. She could tell that he wanted this too. She rested her head on his shoulder and he gently kissed her cheek. She was in heaven. She knew that this dance wasn't out of sympathy, but he really liked her. They slowly danced back and forth while Jenn and Sean watched, along with all the girls who so madly wanted to dance with Tay. They were all so jealous of her, but she didn't care. When the song was over they sat back down, now closer than ever, and Jenn gave Kim a wink with an 'I told you so' look on her face. The rest of the night Tay and Kim where inseparable, not to mention, Sean and Jenn. This was going to be a great weekend and all four of them knew it!

Saturday morning...

As Kim dreamed about the night before and her many dances with Taylor, he did the same. She never knew it but he also had a big crush on her too.

At the Hanson household...

"Tay...Tay...Tay!" Zac yelled into his brother's ear.
"WHAT...what?" Tay said with an angry look on his face.
"It's 10:00, you told Kim last night you would pick her up to go to the movies at 11:00. Remember, you guys were gonna get lunch first?"
"Oh man, I forgot! Thanks, Zac...but next time you wake me up, don't yell in my ear!" he yelled into his brother's ear. "Okay, man?"
"Huh? What? I can't hear ya Tay," Zac shouted sarcastically.
"AAAAHHHH, get out of my way so I can get dressed," Tay pushed him to the side with a shove. He began to get out all his clothes and headed to the bathroom to get dressed. Just then, the phone rang. No one picked it up, so Tay, in his boxers, picked up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Tay."
"Hey, Kim, what's up?"
"I was just making sure you remembered what you said last night because you looked so tired. But I guess you did right? You being up and all..."
"Of course I remembered. How could I forget?"
"Oh! Okay, good. So...I will see ya at 11:00 then?"
"It's a date!"
"Great!"
"Okay. Bye then."
"Bye," she said as she hung up the phone. Kim was getting dressed and ready to go. Tay would pick her up they would go to lunch and then meet up with all their friends to go see a movie. It was gonna be great and she couldn't wait for Tay to pick her up.

Later...

"Bye mom," Kim yelled as she ran out of the house to Tay's car.
"Have fun, Honey," her mom yelled back.
"Hey Kim," Tay said as she stepped out of the house.
"Hey Tay," she said as she got into the car. "Well where to?"
"Well, actually I already got lunch."
"You did?"
"Yeah, I got us some burgers and fries and drinks, because I though we could go sit up at the hill and eat and talk and stuff!"
"Wow, Tay, that is really romantic. I would love to." When they got there, Tay put out a blanket and the food and invited her to sit down. She sat down and they started to talk.
"So, what movie are we going to see?"
"The Sixth Sense."
"Oh, cool I wanted to go see that for a while now!"
"Yeah, me too. That's why I told Jenn we sh—
Before Kim could finish her sentence, Taylor's lips had gently met hers. She was overwhelmed at the sudden rush of passion Taylor was showing. The Taylor Hanson was this close to her, his lips pressed tightly against hers. And she loved every second of it. Tay's lips had something about them. They were so soft and warm and gentle. He gently pulled her closer as they kept kissing. Being in his arms, it felt so right. Who was she kidding? It was right. As far as she was concerned, they were meant to be together. Tay then gently laid her down on the blanket, moving his way on top of her. They kissed more and more passionately, their breathing rate increasing with every kiss. Tay trailed his kisses down her face to her neck, and back up again. She felt his chest, his hard abs, and great pecks.
Taylor's watch alarm sounded.
"What time is it, Tay?" Kim asked as he got up and looked at his watch.
"Holy shit! It's 12:30"
"We have to go! I told Jenn we would meet her at 1:00, because the movie starts at quarter after."
"Man, you mean we have to stop?" he grinned as he gave her his hand to help her up.
"Yeah, well we could miss the movie, but Jenn would be so angry..."
"Yeah, but there is always the movies!"
