He swallowed hard as he sat down on his bed. Everyone had left the room and he was thankful for it. He needed to think. Alone. Without anyone else there. Lying back on the bed, he closed his eyes. Could she really do something like that? Jenn was a daredevil, but she'd never do something that would get her in trouble with the law. She had to be telling the truth. But...what happened to the body then? It just disappeared? Blood and all? No way. That's impossible. Or is it? Maybe they cleaned up after Jennifer saw it...maybe this is how they wanted it to be. For Jennifer to be...alone.
"Holy crap!" Zachary cried, jumping to his feet. He threw his shoes on and ran down the stairs. "Mom! Oh my God, Mom!"
"Zac, what is it? What's wrong?"
"Mom, we gotta find Jenn. Don't ask any questions, just please...help. Please?"
Diana stared at Zachary for a moment. She slowly began to nod her head. "Alright."
He pulled Diana out the door, running to Jennifer's house once down the steps. Skipping stairs as he ran up her front porch, Zachary rang the doorbell wildly. Daisy pulled open the door, her face slightly surprised to see him.
"Zac...Diana...is something wrong?"
"Is Jennifer here?" Zac asked, his heart racing. Not from running though. Lord, not from running.
Daisy nodded her head. "I think so...you can check if you want..."
Zac ran in, bounding up the stairs. "Jenn?" he called, rushing to her door. "Jenn?" He opened the door to an empty room. "Shit." He cussed lowly.
He ran back downstairs. "She's not there. We gotta find her."
Daisy stared as Diana and Zachary left. "Not there?" She questioned herself. She opened the door and ran out after them. "I'll take my car and look...she couldn't have gotten far."
Diana nodded as she got in the car with Zachary.
'God, let her be okay...please,' Zac thought.
Hours later...
Zachary trudged up to his room, tired and hurt. They hadn't found her. God...what if she was hurt? And he couldn't help but blame himself. Zac let off a low sigh as he fell onto his trundle He couldn't sleep. There was no way he could sleep. He let her down. He said he would always be there and he let her down. God...this wasn't right...He should be with her. She shouldn't be off anywhere...alone no less.
Zachary closed his eyes, a strong headache, no migraine, forming. He never got migraines. Since when did they start?
Zac rubbed his head, trying to loosen the pain...God...this one was hell. Even despite the awful migraine, Zac couldn't help but let his mind drift to Jennifer.
He felt so awful for not sticking up for her. When he had to go to the hospital...his Mom told him that Jenn didn't believe that he could do something like that. And it was true. He hadn't. He just prayed that Jennifer was safe. He would do anything to be with her. Hell, he'd do anything to be in her predicament. Just so she wouldn't have to suffer.
All alone in my room,
Wishing that you were here.
Without you in my arms,
I'm holding back all the tears.
Zachary's eyelids began to get heavy. That damned migraine was doing a number on him. He closed his eyes, hoping that when he awoke Jennifer would be there.
