Marcia Higgs, founder and lead vocalist of the group Higgs & Twins, reasons
positively with her audience on Jamaica's 27th year of Independence - Festival - Celebration inside the
National Arena. This crowd pleaser's rendition? A Pam Hall composition entitled "Girls' Time," which unfortunately was side-stepped for
"Stop And Go." However, the group was awarded the "Best Performance" trophy and a generous cash prize
which they donated to charity.

Marcia's Comment
Well, a couple of days after that uproar, Higgs & Twin were
invited into the JBC radio station for a live interview with Disc Jockey, Tony Young. When he asked if there was any
reason in particular why we gave our cash prize to charity, I told him there definitely was, and the reason being that, we
did not need the money...what we needed was the title!!!
(Higgs & Twin were supposed to be the 1st woman
artist or group ever to win that title. To date, a woman is yet to anchor it. Way 'o' the world???
