Nonperformance Workshop
After review and several rewrites, the play and its author then participated in a
nonperformance workshop at the home of Wendy Belden
in Oakland, CA. All other participants had professional stage experience. None was
familiar with the Ramayana story and none had any particular feelings about
Indian culture or Hinduism. They were brutally critical and helped immeasurably to
make the play far better than it had been.
