After a three year absence from the big screen, Christy Chung Lai-Tai makes her movie comeback with the film SAN SEI LUNG CHING (lit. LIFE DEATH STRONG LOVE). The film is directed by Leung Kar-Yun and also stars Simon Yam Tat-Wah (right) and British-raised actress Tien Ming-Lei (centre). In the film, Tien and Chung have a kiss scene (left). Kissing a woman is old hat for Christy Chung as she kissed Christine Ng Wing-Mei in the movie I WANNA BE YOUR MAN (SUN TAM MO LOK). However, Chung pointed out a difference. Chung: "Last time I was the kisser. This time I am the kissee."How did Chung prepare for the kiss scene? Chung: "I ate a lot of chocolate just before we shot the scene. Kissing with the sweet taste in your mouth is better."

The HK premiere of the Thai erotic drama JAN DARA was held the night before last. In attendance were the film's stars Christy Chung Lai-Tai (left) and 17-year old Thai actor Suwinit Panjamawat (centre) as well as producer Peter Chan Ho-Sun and director Nonzee Nimibutr. While young Suwinit Panjamawat attended the pre-premiere festivities, he was not allowed to enter the theatre for the premiere. JAN DARA has been given a CAT-III rating by Hong Kong authorities which means no one under 18 is allowed into screenings of the film. As a result, Panjamawat had to wait outside while the others took in the movie. When asked for a comment on the event, Christy Chung replied: "I'm really nervous tonight because a lot of my friends are here. This film is very popular in Thailand right now. I hope that it becomes popular in Hong Kong too.
Further, Chung was asked about the possibility of doing nudity in future film projects. Chung: "I don't think I will be revealing anything anytime soon. I have to be careful when accepting these kinds of roles because I don't want to get typecast. Before I signed on for JAN DARA, I had a long talk with Peter Chan. I had to be convinced that the story called for nudity. Anyway, these kinds of classy films are rare in South East Asia. I've been working very hard these past six weeks to promote the film because I'm worried people will be scared off by it. I hope that it will bring me better roles in the future. Right now, I'm in talks for roles in a couple of Hollywood films. However, If there are good roles for me here, my first choice would be to stay in Hong Kong because Hong Kong has become my home. However, I don't want to do any more flower vase roles or roles in which I have to do nudity."
