- Square's Legend of Mana for the Playstation will be released early. It will be on store shelves June 6, 2000 at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $39.99 US. Also, in Japan, Square has revealed their first Wonderswan game, a simulation called Hataraku Chocobo, where players wander about to collect land. - Gamearts' Grandia 2 will be released in Japan in August. Some are speculating that releasing it then is somewhat of a suicide mission, as two RPG juggernauts, Final Fantasy IX and Dragon Quest VII, are both due out near then.

Here are some nifty tidbits:
- Square will be releasing Final Fantasy IX early than expected. It's now set for July 7, 2000. - It looks like the Might and Magic series will finally be getting a facelift as New World Computing will be using Monolith's Lithtech 2.0 engine. Black Isle is also interested in the 3D engine.

Here's a round up of E3 2000 happenings:
- Sega announced North American release dates for its three RPGs: Phantasy Star On-Line is due out in January of 2001 (world wide release date), Eternal Arcadia in September, 2000, and Shenmue on November 14, 2000. -Ubi Soft announced that it has gained the rights to publish Grandia 2 in North America. -Natsume has a new Lufia on the way titled Lufia: The Legend Returns. -Even Mattel is publishing an RPG. The title is being developed by Stormfront and is called Eternal Blade.

- Atlus announced its "Mystery" game at opening day of E3. That game being Persona 2: Eternal Punishment for the Playstation. - Agetec announced that they will be bringing Eternal Rings and Evergrace to North America. Both games being for the Playstation 2.

- Squaresoft announced its E3 line-up for 2000. This year they'll be showing The Bouncer and Driving Emotion Type-S for the Playstation 2. For the original PSX they'll have a small army of RPGs on display: Vagrant Story, Threads of Fate, Legend of Mana, Crono Cross, Parasite Eve 2, and (of course) Final Fantasy IX.
- Sony Computer Entertainment America has just released Wild Arms 2 in North America. Unlike the original, this game is in 3D, with more detailed characters, and controllable camera angles.
