Managers and Global Information Support Team
are researching around the clock. This
skilled team of information professionals
manages research, as well as devising
customized solutions to monitor ongoing data
and information demands. Our Information
Managers also consult with other companies on
knowledge management issues as well as
serving on various cross-functional teams.
For
Intelligence needs, a research
analyst will combine data collection and
analytical skills to provide intelligence
solutions. As full-time members of the
Information Central team, they will apply
their knowledge to improve the flow of data
into, through and out of the website.

Knowledge needs, IC has partnered
with other internet companies to develop
in-house databases designed to enhance the
corporation's intellectual capital.

IC is made up
of the following teams:
Global
Information Support
As one of
knowledge facilitation groups, the Global
Information Support (GIS) team provides
general business and technical reference
services. In support of IC's education
initiative, GIS also assists employees with
website related research.
Members of GIS
are located at various centers throughout the
United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. They
act as our central contact point for IC
employees. Incoming information requests from
IC employees that involve more in-depth
research are channeled through to an
appropriate Information Manager or Research
Analyst. Conversely, the GIS team also
assists Information Managers and Research
Analysts on particular projects or requests.
Printed
Resources Group
The members of
the Printed Resources Group (PRG) order,
receive, and catalog all materials for IC's
collection of resources. This team is also
responsible for procuring materials such as
books, reports, industry and military
specifications and standards, audio/visuals
and journal articles in a for IC employees in
a time-sensitive manner. PRG has contracts
with outside vendors and interlibrary loan
sources to obtain materials not currently
present in the existing collection.
Information
Managers
Located within
many of the major IC locations Information
Managers (IMs) locate, filter and analyze
technical and business information, research,
and data. IMs serve a diverse population of
employees, including scientists, engineers,
information technology professionals,
mathematicians, lawyers, human resources
personnel, and various technicians who work
in the "shop."
The
geographically dispersed IMs work with the
team of knowledge facilitators to ensure that
the flow of information makes it into the
hands of those who need it as quickly and
smoothly as possible.
Technical
Support
Members of the
Technical Support group are responsible for
technical resources within our website in
regards to computer and/or Internet issues.
They evaluate and recommend Web-based
products and services for purchase by IC and
facilitates access to those products through
the corporate intranet. in addition, they
provide technical support and troubleshooting
for IC employees accessing these resources.
Working
together, they develop products and services
internally to meet the needs of IC employees
and maintains the IC website and related
websites. The Technical Support group is
located at IC Research Center in East Moline,
IL and is accessible via email.
Research
Analysts
Research
Analysts (RAs) are high-level interpreters of
information and data. RAs are contracted to a
specific group or department within a IC
sections, such as the Strategic Planning
group or the Finance department at IC
Corporate office. Responsibilities of RAs
include in-depth analysis and synthesis,
report generation, and identification of
trends for topics that can range from
recycling to competitive intelligence.
Administration
Comprised of
the IM Manager, Manager of Competitive
Intelligence, GIS Manager, and PRG Manager,
the IC Administration works to keep everyone
within IC focused and moving forward. The
Managers provide vision and strategic
direction to ensure that Information Central
is functioning at optimum performance.
