Yokohama – want to be Japanese bigspender?
Here is where you can do it cheaply or extravagantly.

We were amused by this –
not only the sculpture

but the fact everyone was trying to run to the other side
in the open despite a typhoon –
bless all umbrellas that died valiantly that day

Kitchen street in Tokyo – summer’s out

For fresh fish, you know where to head … everyone says
you have to fork out at least 2000 yen for breakfast
but that’s rubbish coz I had a rice bowl stuffed with tuna for
just 1100 yen and I was being indulgent.

Nippori – shopping here is testimony that
Japan need not break your wallet.  We got
many nice T-shirts here for 400 yen or less.
Pity about the shoes tho
but since my feet are rather big …

Saw a café serving breakfast for 60 yen a set -
coffee or tea and toast … unbelievable (shinjiraremasen yo).

Lunch to refuel the shopping energy spent
was 500 yen per person to boot so all in all,
it was money well spent.  Would have ventured
into the bathhouse here but for the lack of time.
