Ray, Joann, 72, Gallery XII artist, died Sept. 27, 2005. Service 10 a.m. Friday, West Heights Methodist Church. She was a member of West Heights Methodist Church, Wichita Womans Artist, Kansas Watercolor Society, Wichita Art Association, West Wichita Womens Network and Westlink Suburbanites. Preceded in death by husband, James A. Ray Jr. and daughter, Nancy. Survivors: sons, Dale A. and wife, Carla Ray, David A. Ray all of Wichita; daughter, Karen and husband, Pat Gideon of Topeka; grandchildren, Amanda and Andrew Ray, Melanie and Bryan Ray, Austin and Nicholas Gideon. Memorials established with Kansas Humane Society and Friends of Wichita Art Museum. Resthaven Mortuary.

Bill graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute.  He then worked as a graphic design artist at Boeing for 32 years.  After his retirement Bill pursued his passion of watercolors.  He was a well-known local and regional artist with numerous awards.  He was a member of the Kansas Watercolor Society.  Bill had a love of watercolors and painting regional landscapes.  His art is hanging in many homes and galleries around the country.  Bill's greatest love was his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
