Harper's Tale - Saturday, November 17, 2001,
Liesana slips in from the outside world, a couple of the smith brats attempting to peek in after her before she closes the door, giving Kryz a bit of a grin. "Well, it's safe to go upstairs now, if you want. Evan and Arakiel have settled things enough that knives are no longer flying." Kryz runs a hand through his hair and nods his head. "That's good." Now that the initial anger is over, he just wishes he had a sketchpad... then at least he wouldn't feel like he was slacking. "So, um...." he digs through his mind for a topic other then the one that's been brought up a few times already this 'visit'. "So how many mentees DO you have? Falada's really nice, but I'm guessing there's a few I haven't met." Liesana chuckles, and notes Kryz's fidgeting. "There's a couple easels in that corner for the brats to use." she offers, before ticking off mentees on her fingertips. "Only two living here, but in total I have... Everest, Lionel, Safri, Falada, Tellon, Hynolonie, Elas, and Mynd" A grin. "You know me, not happy unless I'm busy." Kryz gives Lies a look like she's insane. "You're telling me... man, you have a lot of mentees. I'd never find the time for that. And Lio? I didn't know you were his mentor? How's he doing anyway? I haven't seen him for the longest time nor heard from him." Liesana rolls her eyes. "Oh, he's still the same Lionel... Trying to sleep with anything female." A sigh, and she settles on the bed. "And what's hard Kryz, is that I can't turn a blind eye any more. If I catch him with another girl, I'm going to have to turn him over to the Masters." A headshake. "If only all the appies could be as angelic as we were, right?" she jokes, attempting to mask the fact that she's more than a little upset. Kryz cracks a smile, "yes, as perfect as us. If only all the appies would run away for a day for a picnic on the beach." He lets out a slight laugh before glancing back down. "So um... I... I was thinking about what you said and stuff..." He stares at his boots as he stutters for the right words. "Anyway, I don't wanna go back and screw things up, you know? I'm afraid of doing the wrong thing but at the same time I'm afraid saying something might be the wrong thing but...," he pauses again and then glances up at her. "I um... well... " another pause. This harper's horrible with talking when he doesn't want to. He looks back down and finishes quietly and in a hurry, "I think I'm ready to try this out... if you're still willing after my big scene the other day..." Liesana gives a chuckle. "That was a good time..." she muses, before Kryz's next words cause her to sit back down beside him with a plop, an expression of mild shock on her face. Is he really saying it? The shock slowly changes to a guarded hope. And then at the last words, the mark drops, and Liesana... Can't say a word? Amazing. The chestnut-haired Journeywoman is officially speechless. She nods a few times, slowly, before managing a very quiet "Yes... Yes of course..." Kryz continues to stare at his boots as he feels her plops down next to him. And he too grows silent. "I didn't mean to send you into shock," he finally says with a nervous laugh as he glances over at her, his face rather flushed. Is there anything that doesn't embarrass this journeyman? Liesana gives a chuckle, and takes Kryz in a hug, releasing him to hold him at arms' length. "It's a /good/ kind of shock, Kryz." she laughs, a little bit of giddiness in the tone. Kryz turns another shade of red as he's hugged before smiling back at her. "So...um... now what?" he asks. "I mean, Im new at this... and I don't wanna screw up our friendship or anything else...." Liesana smiles. "Nothing can screw up our friendship, Kryz." she assures him. "Look what it's already been through. It's like taking gold into the fire. Refines it. As for the rest..." A blush. Oh dear, this was much easier when she was drunk. Hmm, an idea. No more being drunk, but this needs to be celebrated. And so she stands, and rummages in one of the cabinets, emerging with what looks like a rather fine bottle of wine. Which she pours two glasses of, handing one to Kryz. "How about a toast? I promise it's not moonshine." Kryz smiles and takes the glass. "Looks better then moonshine. Wish I had wine this good up at Reaches," he says with a laugh, his embarrassment and nervousness starting to fade. Liesana laughs. "This is some of my private reserve," she reveals, and then raises her glass. "I propose a toast..." she begins formally, before a blush steals across her cheeks. "To... Us!" another giggle. "I like how that sounds... Whatever we are." Kryz smiles as well as he too blushes slight and raises his glass repeating "To us." He then takes the cup to his lips and takes a sip of the wine. Liesana takes a sip of her own wine, sighing with a happiness far from wine-induced. Nope, purely natural high here, as she leans her head on Kryz's shoulder, with a happy sigh, and a bit of humour. "I can foresee a lot of 'I told you so's from the folks back at the Hall." she muses, with a grin. Kryz lets out a laugh as he says quietly, "yeah...so can I." He swirls the wine around in the glass. "So um... what are we gonna do? I mean... I have to go back to Reaches but, if I had my stuff I could stay here a little longer..." Liesana sighs, and swirls her own wine, twining her arm through Kryz's as she thinks. Nothing overtly romantic, just the comfort of being next to him. "Oh... now there's a bit of a muddle isn't it..." She tilts her head to smile up at him. "I'd like that... If you could stay a little longer. Even just a day or two or three... And then I could find an excuse to visit 'Reaches later..." A firm note enters her voice, and she gives his arm a light squeeze. "We'll find a way." she pronounces. Kryz nods. "Yeah.... we will," he says. "Anyway, I'm staying at least another day and need my beauty sleep, so how about we call it a night and we can finish this talk tomorrow?" He covers a quick yawn and adds, "Being kidnapped took a lot out of me." Liesana smiles, and brushes a light kiss against his cheek, before hopping off the bed. "I could imagine. But rest well, Kryz." She slowly strolls over to the spiral staircase, pausing at the top to give a last smile, one with her heart in her eyes. Kryz has disconnected. |
