Jah Pong was born in Westmoreland Jamaica and had always aspired to be a DJ. As a youngster, his raw talent could be seen through his love for music and entertaining. He was always a creative writer who oftentimes composed songs and poems.His musical career started at the tender age of 13 - his friends and anyone else who would listen served as his audience. Then, his favourite lyrics were "A come mi come fi mek dem know sey mi Hot"; with great artists such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Lt. Stitchie, Admiral Bailey and General Trees being his idols. Pong was so fasinated with music that he would spend most of his time listening to the various radio programs and cutting newspaper clippings of his favourite artists - making an ever-growing portfolio. Friday nights were a treat because the Top 10 music charts were aired on mosy radio stations and he could listen and sing along.

Immigrating to Canada in the late 1980s Jah Pong attended Weston Collegiate Institute where he is love for music blossomed. He participated in various theatrical performances which lead him to receive the Certificate of Recognition for Distinctive Performance in The Festival of the Spoken Word.Upon graduating from Weston, INDICA INTERNATIONAL SOUND® was born. In 1994, former classmate and aspiring actor, Dayo Aide introduced Pong to "Distinct Look Agency" - through which he began his acting career in Toronto's film Industry. His first television exposure was in the popular Canadian series "Due South", in which he was cast in various roles. He also made appearances in "Jonovison" , a CBC production in which he was cast as a rapper/background dancer. To enhance his acting career, JahPong enrolled in an acting fundamentals course and workshop at the well-established Sears and Switzer in 1997. With this in tow, Pong's acting career took off in 1990 when he auditioned for and got the part of a silent on camera (SOC) in a St. Louis Blues Hockey team commercial for Partners Production. This opportunity gained him the first credit towards becoming an Actra Apprentice member. He then completed the Actra Works course to receive his second credit. In 2003, he gained his third credit by doing a speaking role on "Platinum", a television series. Most recently, JahPong recied his fourth credit by doing a SOC for a Diet Pepsi commercial. JahPong is an active member of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA)and a member of The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN).

In the millenium, Jah Pong is a hot DJ with his hot CD release single; EMPRESS© which is available at most major record stores in the GTA. The "Empress"© is dedicated to all Empresses and has three mixes - Reggae Jungle, Dancehall and the original mix. On this CD, the DJ "licks" out about certain types of lifestyles which to the King is not uplifting. He candidly describes his ideal Empress he has in his life and how women in today's society should act and be treated. Pong also "buns fire" on the slackeness that is so prevalent in the world today. GO OUT AND GET IT! JahPong has also released three singles on vinyl "Weed Weed", "Empress" and "The Woman Dem". In 2002, he released "Player Haters" and "Long Time" on 12" vinly. Not to be reckoned with, JahPong has filmed his "Empress" music video which is being aired on MuchMusic's DAMIX on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

He is now working out of the Just Platium Studios with engineer Patrick Stephenson. The artist is among a select few of nominees for various awards at the upcoming 17th annual Canadian Reggae Music Awards(CRMA), to be held a the Howard Johnson Triumph Plaza Hotel, 2737 Keele St, Toronto on Sunday March 18,2001. JahPong has been nominated for Top Reggae Newcomer for his "Empress"© and "Weed Weed"© singles. He makes frequent appearances on community radio stations across Ontario. "It's Your time Magazine" did a feature on JahPong in its volume#2, winter 2001 edition. JahPong also advertised for Fido between November and December 2004 on the Jumbotron - Eaton Centre and was also on the Reggaemania website posing with Capleton the "Fireman"! The artist performed in July 2002 at Niagara Falls with smash artists such as "Admiral Tibet", "Courtney Melody", "General Trees", "Little John", "Blessed" and "Thriller" backed by the Xplosion Band. He also performed at "Champion in Action" on January 30th and March 6th, 2003 alongside "ants Man", "Peter Ranking", "Noel Ellis", "Spida and Lloyd", "Maximillion". Now for 2005, JahPong has a new CD album titled "Fearless Love" distributed by Indie Pool in Canada. The album features grammy award winner Sean Paul in combination on the track "Macai" and also third place Canadian Idol Latoya Lesmond on the track "Long Time". Canada's hypest Fire Kid Steenie and Spida are also featured on the track "Player Hater". The album is available at Play De Reord, Sam the Record Man, Treasure Isle, King Culture, DJ Records, Sunshine Records, Record Lable and other major record stores in the GTA. !!
