Hirobo StaySee

A Hirobo sst-eagle Freya EX WC fits into Fun Tech's StaySee fuselage. This is one of my best favorite helis. It is not only because the price of this heli but also the effort I spend to build it. I have spend a lot of effort to build this heli.

Fun Tech StaySee fuselage

before decal is put on After decal on

This fuselage is made by Fun Tech Japan and it is designed by Japan F3C pilot. It was well package in a long box with very nice protecting when I receive it from local hobby shop. After open the box, there are fronts, rear fuselage, landing gear, manual, decal and all necessary hardware in the box (the decal usually sell separately). The fuselage fully covers entire heli and only has two rotors and landing gear extended that makes heli look very nice after assembled. The landing gear lows heli about one inch compare to the original one and that not only makes heli looks cool but also increases its aerobatic performance. The twenty sheets manual describes the procedures to fit the fuselage to several brand flagship helis in both Japanese and English language. The instruction can be followed very easily with very detail illustrations.

There are some Pros and Cons for an entire covered fuselage. The visibility and orientation of the heli improves a lot with the bigger size of body. The air speed is also increased by the shape of fuselage, so the large size of aerobatic maneuvers can be preformed easily. The fuselage reduce the most of noise generated inside its cover, so the heli is very quite. You would only hear the rotor noise when the heli is about 10 meters away from you. Everything except main and tail rotors, landing gear are covered inside the fuselage; therefore, only five holes exist allowing you to access inside mechanic: two in the front; two in the back and one under the engine cooling head. Because of the nearly entire covering fuselage, the engine is running hotter compare to the engine in a pad and boom heli, so the mixture needs to rich a bit.
