Drivers: Ward Burton | Kenny Wallace The team made big changes in the latter part of 2002, including a new crew chief for Ward Burton (Frankie Stoddard) and a new second driver (Kenny Wallace). This is Wallace's first full-time Winston Cup ride in nearly two years.
Drivers: John Andretti | Kyle Petty This time of the year, almost every NASCAR Winston Cup team says it can win the championship. Kyle Petty has a different view of Petty Enterprises.
Driver: Dave Blaney After a 19th-place finish with driver Dave Blaney in the 2002 Winston Cup standings, a new crew chief and new crew members may put the team in contention in 2003. Drivers: Sterling Marlin | Jamie McMurray |Casey Mears This team expands from two cars to three for 2003, and drivers Jamie McMurray and Casey Mears will each run for Rookie of the Year.
Drivers: Kevin Harvick | Robby Gordon | Jeff Green After a poor season that saw just one victory between three teams, Richard Childress gave Jeff Green a new crew chief. The team hopes to benefit from a revamped test program, as well as the newest Monte Carlo.
Driver: Ricky Craven A new crew chief. A new engine program. A new manufacturer. Ricky Craven must endure all of these things to succeed in 2003, as he enters his third season with Cal Wells.
Drivers: Bill Elliott | Jeremy Mayfield After two seasons as a Winston Cup car owner, Ray Evernham believes he's starting to figure out the right combination.
Drivers: Dale Earnhardt Jr. | Steve Park | Michael Waltrip After a sluggish year in 2002, DEI hopes several changes and a renewed sense of hunger lead to more success in 2003.
Drivers: Bobby Labonte | Tony Stewart The two-time champions made big-time changes in the offseason, including a switch from Pontiac to Chevrolet and a new crew chief for Bobby Labonte.
Drivers: Mark Martin | Jeff Burton | Matt Kenseth | Kurt Busch | Greg Biffle Roush Racing was arguably the most successful team in 2002 -- they scored 10 wins, but nine of those came from Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch. They made relatively few changes in the offseason, although Busch did lose car chief Shawn Parker. Roush will expand to five cars in 2003 as Greg Biffle runs for Rookie of the Year.
Drivers: Jeff Gordon | Jimmie Johnson | Terry Labonte | Joe Nemechek Hendrick Motorsports was one of the only multi-car teams that didn't have a significant change in the offseason. All four drivers -- and their crew chiefs -- return in 2003.
Drivers: Ryan Newman | Rusty Wallace With a switch to Dodge and the promise of more engineering and technical support, Penske Racing looks to augment last year's substantial achievements in 2003.
Drivers: Dale Jarrett | Elliott Sadler There are some new faces around the shop at Robert Yates Racing this year, and the team is hoping a fresh start in the garage leads to spectacular results on the track.
Driver: Ricky Rudd The alliance between Ricky Rudd and Wood Brothers Racing adds up to one thing -- experience. The veteran team and its veteran driver have ambitious goals for this season in Winston Cup.
Now crews and drivers are back at their shops, trying to learn from the information they gleaned during their time on the track.
The team that makes the most of its testing data may very well be in Victory Lane at the end of 500 miles.
