Please note: In the UK as I
understand it, you are entitled to disability living allowance and also
carers allowance even before your child is diagnosed. Basically if your
child needs extra care and attention than normal children their age then
you should be entitled to that. http://www.dwp.gov.uk/index_content.htm#top
Organisation that could help
you refurbish your home, help towards holidays etc are:
The Family trustPOBox

If your child is already
receiving disability allowance, or has a disability etc, write to your
local councils parking division, including a letter from your doctor etc
confirming that your child has special needs. You may be entitled to
a disabled parking badge which not only allows you easier and greater
access to shops etc, but also free parking in council car parks for up to
3 hours.
Nappies: If your child is 3 or
over and still in nappies, have a wrod with your health visitor who
will based at your local doctors surgery. You are entitled to a free nappy
a day. she can organise this for you.
Also there are organisations
who will take your child on a weekend away to give you a break (respite).
