Mr. Sternlight moderates his own list.

Note: Mr. Sternlight started this mailing list on December 23, 1998 with the public announcement shown below.. Two months later, the list shows that there have been 9 posts, and Mr. Sternlight posted 8 of them.

"I have started a new e-mail list for substantive discussions of crypto matters. Moderation policies are indicated on the list site, where one may also subscribe:  http://www.eGroups.com/list/internet-crypto/

It is my hope to very lightly moderate this group, if at all. It is my further hope that we can avoid personal attacks and off topic matter which have sometimes debilitated the atmosphere here. All technical points of view are welcomed--the group is not intended for the promotion of a particular crypto system though members are invited to share their experiences and to discuss particular crypto systems.

The group is not intended for political advocacies with respect to crypto, nor social protest, though substantive comments on crypto regulations or news items with respect to such regulations are not unwelcome.

Note that in exchange for providing  eGroups hosting, messages may have "discreet ads" attached by eGroups.

To those who would be disruptive: members who violate moderator-set norms will have such posts removed and receive a warning. A second infraction will be grounds for removal from the list. The moderator's decisions are not subject to appeal but one is free to leave the newsgroup at any time, or start a competing one. Those who are unhappy with such arrangements, or wish to impute motives to the creation of this group should not join the group and are invited to ignore this post.

Note that this is an Internet list and some Usenet conventions will not apply. In particular, members are able to send HTML-formatted mail if they wish, and participants are responsible for their mail reader's ability to handle traffic.

David"
