Injection-molded, impact and heat resistant polycarbonate plastic, colored bright green and red. Unit is sonic welded, air-tight, water resistant (floats), and heat resistant. Integrates an IMO-certified photoluminous, high intensity omnidirectional locator light disc made by Permalight.

Filter
Atmospheric, air-purifying, negative pressure filter utilizing multi-stage particulate, adsorbent, dessicant and catalyst stages for effectiveness against wide range of toxic gases including CO and particulate matter.

Head Cover
Polyimide, Teflon-coated Kapton hood of 1.1 mil thickness, provides transient heat protection to 800 degrees Fahrenheit (437 degrees Celsius), all-round visibility and audible transparency. Hood is sealed with flame-retardent draw tapes. Approximate dimensions: 16.6" x 14.5" (424mm x 370mm)

Mouthpiece & Plenum

Made of Sanoprene rubber (FDA approved). Noseclip is anchored and tethered with wide adjustment range.

Filter Performance
EVAC-U8 protects against Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen Cyanide, Hydrogen Chloride and Acrolein, which are identified target gases in the established standards for smoke hoods. It is also effective against acrylonitrile, ammonia, sulphur dioxide, chlorine, benzene, formadehyde, hydriotic acid, methyl amine, ozone, phosgene, styrene, tear gas, hydrogen sulphide, tetrachloroethylene, and thionyl chloride.
