I had thought about calling my CyberZine BeeZine or even Abeja, which is "bee" in Spanish, which is one of my favorite languages. But since I am a Cajun Grrl, and "Abeille" is the French word for "Bee", I decided on that as the name of my zine.

For those who aren't acquainted with the term grrl, here's my definition: a grrl is a girl with an attitude. She's a feminist, kick-ass, don't-take -no-sh*t-from-nobody, determined, self-sufficent kinda female person. Not necessarily a lesbian, but she chooses whomever she likes to have sex with and makes no apologies for it. She doesn't have to be born in a female body, either. (But that's another topic!)

In Abeille you will find poetry, rants'n'raves (aka "essays"), and some of my artwork, too. I started to put copyright notices on my poems, but then I realized that if someone's gonna steal my work, it damn well doesn't matter if I put a © on it or not. If you decide to use my work for some reason, I'd appreciate an email of what you're gonna do, but I can't really stop anyone from plagarizing, can I? It's your karma, not mine.

Oh, yeah, one more thing. This is for my kindred survivors out there. Things get pretty intense with some of my stuff, I talk about the real trauma that has happened, and so some of the stuff here may be triggering to people who are survivors of rape, sexual, verbal and emotional abuse. Proceed with the caution you need.
