The following are examples of land and seascapes that influence the art of Hon Non Bo and Tieu Canh. Islands in Ha Long Bay, northern Vietnam, are shown to the left and directly below. Note the shape of the tree to the right of the mountain. The shape is a model for the trees used in Hon Non Bo, natural rather than the more sculptured look of some modern bonsai.
