Nagelkerke's
work strongly is inspired from Eastern cultures, religions,
music and dances. The feminine island of Bali, a small spot in
the Indian Ocean, became Louis' second home. Therefore his
work significantly is influenced by the Balinese-Hindu culture
and the beautiful religious people who live there in peace
with themselves and with nature.
Louis Nagelkerke
not only is a versatile European artist, but also a sort of
time traveler with everlasting ideas. He is a diver of the
Eternal Void from where he seemingly perceives his
inspiration. Some people even claim, Louis is an alien from
outer space, a Pleader perhaps, who belongs to the ground crew
of these extraterrestrials on our planet...
Whatever his
true nature might be, Louis Nagelkerke is a master among other
masters. His paintings are visible expressions of the
Universal Mystical Light, perhaps reflections of the Divine
and Eternal Light that we all ARE... as human beings...
