Brett was born in the early 70s and is in his late 20s. Brett was from a poor family, but he wasn't raised in an alcoholic family like the rest of Rancid's members. His dad was protective of Brett, but he still had family problems because of divorces. They sometimes had to rely on food stamps to live. Brett quit school at 16 to try to raise some money. Brett Reed is probably the underrated member of Rancid and least seen. Dispite of what all the other Rancid sites say, I think he's just a okay drummer. Before joining Rancid he hardly knew how to play and right now... He played with one band Smog, who lasted one show. Other stuff: Brett's left handed and is influenced by The Pixies. Other music he has been said to listen to are The Beatles, D.I (southern Californian punk) and The Spice Girls. He has said he only liked one song on the Spice Girls CD, but refuses to say which one.
